Recitation. The two "phaṭ" (ཕཊ་,phaṭ,phaṭ,severance) at the end of this should be understood through oral instructions. The king of vidyā is glorious Heruka. His mantra is accomplished as the mantra of eight lotus feet itself. Knowing it is realizing the arising of accomplishments. Then, what is to be done with the words of other mantras that are without essence, like grass? Because considering the fruit to be accomplished here, there is no fruit. A worm is a distinction of insects. What it eats is also a tree eaten by worms. The meaning of this is: Like a tree eaten by worms, the collection of other mantras is empty of meaningful actions. Like a root without essence, the yogi thinks there is no fruit. It is famously known as the root mantra. This is because it is merely the nature of a collection of letters, so it is not said to be the mantra of the king of vidyā. Or, vidyā is Ḍākinīs and so on. The king is produced by this, so it is the mantra of the king of vidyā, such as kara kara and so on. For the first meaning, it is the sixth. By practicing this Buddha's lineage, the king of vidyā himself is the oral instruction. Abandoning all practices. This refers to the practice of fire offerings and so on, because it can be accomplished merely through recitation. "There is not" means that other than this supreme one, there is no other means of accomplishing siddhis. Precisely because of this, it is said, "If you know this mantra" and so on. By what is the glorious Heruka practiced, that is the mantra of glorious Heruka. It is spoken by completely distinguishing it from the collection of letters. To the question, "What is that?", it is answered, "The root secret mantra," because the root of all accomplishments is also it, and the mantra is also it, so it is just like that. It means that other than the king of vidyā, there is also the root mantra. Moreover, because the eight liberations are completely pure, it is eight lotus feet. "Letters are the illuminator" refers to the difficult commentary on the fifth chapter of the glorious Cakrasaṃvara.
