The Clear Yoga of the Practice Method of Glorious Kalachakra. Composed by Maitripa. The Clear Yoga of the Practice Method of Glorious Kalachakra. Composed by Maitripa. In Sanskrit: Śrīkālacakrasādhanayogapadīpāhvayaṃ. In Tibetan: The Clear Yoga of the Practice Method of Glorious Kalachakra. Homage to Glorious Vajrasattva! He who gazes upon the world with compassion, These various essentials of the three mandalas, He is the glorious Kalachakra, the king of samadhi, May the Vajra Holder grant you fulfillment! Without the extensive commentaries composed by Bodhisattvas, Scholars cannot understand the many tantras. Having heard the First Buddha, one perfects enlightenment, For the sake of achieving well-being, one obtains bliss. Regarding the practice method of remembering it, I am not a scholar, nor do I possess excellent composition. Nevertheless, for the sake of my own remembrance, I will compose it, may the scholars forgive me. Wind, fire, water, earth, and Mount Meru, On a lotus in the center of various lotuses, Moon, sun, Rahu, Mara, and Ishvara, Playing with the right leg extended and the foot inclined, Engaging equally with various consorts, In one, the fulfillment of self and other's benefit. The purity of the four bodies is peace, Non-dual and abandoning conceptualization. What is the great unchanging bliss? The lord of emptiness and compassion. Remembering that is in accordance with the Dharma, Practice the method intimately at all times. Beings born in existence, all arise from ignorance, The suffering of the womb is also limitless, Childhood, youth, and adolescence, And old age as well, existence is destroyed in between. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain a human body, It is extremely difficult to practice according to the Dharma. The appearance of the Buddha and the Great Vehicle, Reverence for that is also extremely difficult to obtain. All the steadfast ones, even in secret contemplation, Whoever in life enters into it excellently, From that, one becomes a Buddha, Alas! Entering is indeed extremely difficult. Therefore, the intelligent ones should first Practice as if extinguishing a fire on their clothes. The compassionate yogi, Should abandon ignorance and pride, Truth and permission regarding water and so on, The vase, secret, and supreme three, And the empowerment of great wisdom, Having obtained the lineage of the holy guru, From where to protect?

In a land endowed with Dharma, where beings also dwell in happiness, where there is undisputed dominion, there one should strive to practice diligently. Gardens, mountains, where the Victorious Ones reside, solitary abodes of accomplished deities, charnel grounds, riverbanks, pure places, caves, wherever the mind finds delight, one should make offerings to the best of one's ability. Initially, the yogi should contemplate a wheel of protection encompassing all directions. Seating oneself comfortably on the path of bliss, first generate wrathful pride. In the heart, a lotus of various kinds, in the center, contemplate the seed syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ). From that light, clear and radiant, the supreme wheel of protection, mainly contemplating the ocean of Buddhas, proceeding with prostrations, making the unsurpassed offering of the seven branches that will be explained, then focus on emptiness. Generating the form of the deity, and purifying the body and other aspects, these should be recited in order, and the mantras for them should also be in sequence. Om Ah Hum Ho Ham Sha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུཾ་ཧོ་ཧཾ་ཀྵཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ ho haṃ śaḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum Ho Ham Sha) Prajñā Pāyātmā Ka Kāyavākcittajñānādhipate Mama Kāyavākcittavajraṃ Vajrāmṛta Svabhāvaṃ Kuru Kuru Skandha Dhātvāyatanāni Svabhāvaṃ Svāhā (Tibetan: པྲཛོཉ་པཱ་ཡཱཏྨཱ་ཀ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཝཱ་ཀྩི་ཏྟ་ཛྙཱ་ནཱ་དྷི་པ་ཏེ་མ་མ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཝཱཀྩི་ཏྟ་བཛྲཾ་བཛྲཱ་མྲྀ་ཏ་སྭ་བྷཱ་བཾ་ཀུ་རུ་ཀུ་རུ་སྐནྡྷ་དྷཱ་ཏྭོ་ཡ་ཏ་ནཾ་ནི་སྭ་བྷཱ་པཾ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: prajñā pāyātmā ka kāyavākcittajñānādhipate mama kāyavākcittavajraṃ vajrāmṛta svabhāvaṃ kuru kuru skandha dhātvāyatanāni svabhāvaṃ svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Wisdom, give self, body, speech, mind, wisdom, lord, my, body, speech, mind, vajra, vajra, nectar, nature, do, do, aggregates, elements, sources, nature, svāhā). Then, above the crown of the head, contemplate a full moon disc, which arises from the syllable Vaṃ (Tibetan: ཝཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वम्, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Vaṃ). From the crown of the head to the tips of the toes, like a snake shedding its skin, discarding the old body three times, that is the original body. After that, think of increasing virtuous deeds for this body of mine, the increase of power and so on is not mentioned, this secret mantra should be recited. Om Svabhāva Śuddhaḥ Sarva Dharmāḥ Svabhāva Śuddho'haṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཿསརྦ་དྷརྨཱཿསྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷོ྅ཧཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svabhāva śuddhaḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho'haṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, nature pure, all dharmas, nature pure, I am). On the forehead, throat, heart, and navel, crown, and secret place, Om Ah Hum Ho (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུཾ་ཧོཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ hoḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum Ho), then the syllables Ham Sha (Tibetan: ཧཾ་ཀྵཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं शः, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ śaḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ham Sha) are applied in order. Amitābha and Ratnasambhava, then Amoghasiddhi and Vairocana, Akṣobhya and Vajradhara, the body color and hand gestures as explained. Om Hrīḥ Sarvāstvarārājamārakleśāntakara Vajratīkṣṇā Duḥkhaccheda Mama Karaṃ Viśodhaya Svāhā (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཧྲཿསརྦཱ་སྟྭ་རཱ་ཛ་མཱ་ར་ཀླེ་ཤཱནྟ་ཀ་ར་བཛྲ་ཏཱི་ཀྵྞཱ་དུཿཁཙྪེ་ད་མ་མ་ཀ་རཾ་བི་ཤོ་དྷ་ཡ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ hrīḥ sarvāstvarārājamārakleśāntakara vajratīkṣṇā duḥkhaccheda mama karaṃ viśodhaya svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Hrīḥ All swift king, demon, afflictions, pacifier, vajra, sharp, suffering, cutter, my, action, purify, svāhā). After reciting this mantra accurately, bring the hands close together. The short vowels such as A I, from the lower joint of the left little finger, to the upper joint of the right thumb, etc. The long vowels such as Lā, five repeated three times, A I Ṛ U Ḷ, E Ai O Au A, Ha Ya Ra Va La, and so on. Lā Vā Rā Yā Hā, Ā La Au Ā Ra Ai Ā.
