Starting from the head and going all the way down to the tips of the feet, one should touch oneself thoroughly, in this way the body becomes purified. Having purified the mouth and so on in this way, then with the vajra rays in the lunar mandala, in the expanse of the sky, the Tathagatas are fully realized, and for the purpose of offering to those emanated victors, those rays are also invoked, and one should contemplate them entering fully into the lunar vajra in one's heart. Then, on the lunar mandala, one should contemplate the seed syllable clusters of the twelve offering goddesses. kakkhaghangha (Tibetan, Devanagari, kakhgaghangha, literal meaning in Chinese), kakkhaghanghaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, kakhgaghanghaa, literal meaning in Chinese), cachajhajhaanya (Tibetan, Devanagari, cachajhajhaanya, literal meaning in Chinese), cachajhajhaaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, cachajhajhaaa, literal meaning in Chinese), tathdadhaana (Tibetan, Devanagari, tathdadhaana, literal meaning in Chinese), tathdhadhaanaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, tathdhadhaanaa, literal meaning in Chinese), paphbabhabhma (Tibetan, Devanagari, paphbabhabhma, literal meaning in Chinese), paphbabhabhmaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, paphbabhabhmaa, literal meaning in Chinese), tathdadhaana (Tibetan, Devanagari, tathdadhaana, literal meaning in Chinese), tathdadhaanaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, tathdadhaanaa, literal meaning in Chinese), spashshasthaaka (Tibetan, Devanagari, spashshasthaaka, literal meaning in Chinese), spashshasthaakaa (Tibetan, Devanagari, spashshasthaakaa, literal meaning in Chinese), these seed syllables, from which are formed, in order, the Playful Mother, the Garland Mother, the Fragrance Mother, the Rosary Mother, the Incense Mother, the Lamp Mother, the Food Mother, the Immaculate Mother, the Charming Woman, the Laughing Woman, the Singing Woman, and the Desiring Mother, etc., with these and others, offering to the Tathagatas with the rites spoken of in the Empowerment Chapter. Then, with the order that will be explained, the many kinds of sins that have been accumulated should first be confessed, and then the practitioner, with body, speech, and mind purified, should definitely take refuge in the Three Jewels. Now, following the confession of sins, one should rejoice in merit. Whatever manifold virtues have been performed by the Perfect Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and the noble Sangha, in all of these, the mantra practitioner, free from sins, rejoices, abiding in the conduct of enlightenment. Then, taking refuge in the Three Jewels, in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, until enlightenment, I take refuge from the terrors of existence. Having thus gone for refuge to the Three Jewels, and having offered one's own possessions, then for the sake of the benefit of sentient beings, one should make aspirations: May I become a Perfect Buddha, here I make aspirations for the sake of the benefit of sentient beings. Thus, prostrations, offerings, confession of sins, rejoicing in merit, urging the Tathagatas, supplications, and the complete dedication of merit, thus the offerings, etc.

Seven things should be done. Then one should remember the three roots, namely generating the mind of enlightenment, as well as pure intention, and completely abandoning self-grasping and grasping at what belongs to oneself. Then, for the sake of accumulating merit, wisdom, and discipline, one should contemplate the ten perfections, namely the perfection of generosity, and similarly, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom, skillful means, aspiration, strength, and the perfection of wisdom, one should contemplate in this way. Then one should remember the abodes of Brahma, namely loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Then one should contemplate the four objects of gathering, namely generosity, pleasing speech, beneficial conduct, and acting in accordance with the meaning. Then one should meditate on completely abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions, namely killing, taking what is not given, engaging in sexual misconduct, lying, harsh speech, divisive speech, idle chatter, covetousness, harmful intent, and wrong views. Similarly, one should completely abandon the five obscurations, namely regret, drowsiness, sleep, excitement, and doubt. Similarly, one should completely abandon desire, as well as the previous, ignorance, and pride, namely the afflictions. Similarly, one should abandon the outflows of desire, the outflows of existence, the outflows of ignorance, and the outflows of views. Then one should meditate on the four liberations, namely emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and non-fabrication. The three realms, with and without movement, should be analyzed in detail with this verse: Where there is no thing, there is no meditation. Meditation is not meditation itself. Thus, since things are not things, meditation has no object. The meaning of this will be explained in the commentary. Now, in order to grasp rebirth by means of emptiness and so forth, the characteristics of emptiness are explained: Emptiness is the nature of the essence of things. All beings are devoid of things. Even in that great emptiness, there is no Buddha's enlightenment, and elsewhere there is no compassion. Similarly, in order to become a Buddha for the benefit of beings, this is the vow of signlessness, having known everything in that way.
