The Order of Vase Empowerment. The Order of Vase Empowerment. Thereafter, after the student has received the wisdom empowerment and kept the teacher's vows, he should prostrate at the feet of the lama, offer the supreme offering, and pray. Just as Bodhichitta Vajra prayed to the Buddha, "For the sake of protecting me, grant me the Vajra of Space." After praying three times in this way, he should be brought into the mandala, which is to set up a special throne on the eight-petaled lotus drawn at the east gate of the great mandala, and place the student there. Meditating on oneself as being in union with the yoga of the deity, radiating light from one's heart into the realm of space, and visualizing all the Buddhas of the ten directions as the body of Heruka, invite them with special offerings, umbrellas, banners, streamers, various sounds, and various auspicious songs. Visualize them holding precious vases filled with the nectar of wisdom and bestowing empowerment. Bestow empowerment with these words: "The nature of the minds of all the Buddhas, by the empowerment of the great vajra, the three realms pay homage, the collection of all the Buddhas, this supreme empowerment endowed with the three secrets, shall also be given to you." After saying this, bestow empowerment with a lotus vessel. Then, in this way, the student should be shown the suchness of the mandala, the suchness of the deity, and the actions and deeds of the teacher. The mandala is for taking the essence of purity, completely grasping samadhi, and showing the characteristics of the enjoyment body. The palace is for the purity of the nature of the appearance of the mind. The square is for keeping the mind in equanimity. The four lines are for the purity of love, compassion, joy, and equanimity. The line is for remembering the Dharma. The branch lines are for abandoning the false view of the true body, the false view of inferiority, the false view of engaging in discipline, and the false view of deviating from the right path. Vows and benefiting sentient beings and accumulating virtuous dharmas, the purity of the collection of these is the various ornaments. Faith and diligence and memory.

And, the mind of samadhi and wisdom is five colors. Abandoning the non-virtuous dharmas that have arisen is the eastern stable. Not generating the non-virtuous dharmas that have not arisen is the southern stable. Generating the virtuous dharmas that have not arisen is the western stable. Protecting the virtuous dharmas that have arisen is the northern stable. The purity of mindfulness of body and, feeling and mind and dharmas is the silk of desirable qualities. With the purity of completely holding patience and dharma and meaning and mantra, are the celestial maiden assemblies of singers and dancers residing in the abodes of the gods. The liberation door of emptiness is the eastern door. The liberation door of signlessness is the southern door. The liberation door of wishlessness is the western door. The liberation door of non-fabrication is the northern door. The feet of conduct and miraculous power are two jeweled carpets of the east. The feet of diligence and miraculous power are two jeweled carpets of the south. The feet of mind and miraculous power are two jeweled carpets of the west. The feet of aspiration and miraculous power are two jeweled carpets of the north. In order to equally cherish all and perfect the accumulations of merit and wisdom, is a full vase. Mindfulness and dharma discrimination and vigor, and, joy and, samadhi and, equanimity are the seven branches of enlightenment, which are a garland of flowers. Abandoning all obscurations and samadhi and, completely realizing wisdom and, the purity of the wisdom of the path of the Tathagatas is a wind banner. In order to destroy the seeds of afflictions and be free from afflictions is a net. Destroying and being free from the near afflictions is half a net. The purity of mirror-like wisdom and so on is a mirror. In order not to differentiate all beings as the nature of dharma and, not to be stained by the faults of samsara is a lotus. The purity of the mind of enlightenment in which all sentient beings do not generate their own correct birth arising from karma is the moon. The wisdom arising from diamond-like samadhi is the sun.
