Consecration Ritual The Consecration Ritual The Dharma, the Sugata scriptures, the vajra and bell, Consecration follows the realm of space, This ultimate protector is unknown to worldly beings, Desiring to benefit the world, consecration is performed. Statues, stupas, and temples, Holy Dharma, painted scrolls, and scriptures, Excellent, moderate, or inferior, Complete, possessing the lineage of bliss, Knowing their types and names, One should perform these consecrations. It increases merit, And also rejoices accordingly. Wherever a statue is complete, If it remains unoffered for a long time, Until it is offered, It generates non-virtue. For example, if a person Completely abandons the characteristics of wisdom, All the world will not offer to him, Images will also become like that. Whoever is without consecration, Offering homage to it, Is like a fire offering without mantra, The burnt offering is fruitless ash. Likewise, this place without mantra, Whoever offers with offerings, By the ripening of his karma, In all lifetimes, he will not be worthy of offerings. On an auspicious day, With auspicious stars and planets in conjunction, after bathing and cleansing, anoint the body with fragrant scents, wear fine ornaments, with a neat hairstyle and good companions, holding a vajra and bell in hand, gather all the necessary items. Sit comfortably on a soft cushion strewn with beautiful flowers. Perform the mandala offering and the three samadhis, facing the deity in three ways. Saying, "Ilasana Miste Nama Mi Hum Bhaga Bana Ti JAH HUM BAM HOH (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), Pratitsa Kusuma Anjali Natha HOH (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), Samaya Tvam Samaya Tvam Samaya Tvam (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning)," one should throw the flowers from the palms of the hands. Then, placing the right knee on the ground, one should fumigate with incense in the right hand, and the chief and others should remain in preparation. "Victorious One, so-and-so, supreme Vajra, King of Knowledge, I prostrate and praise. The essence of Vajra is the consecration. Protector, I wish to do it. For the sake of refuge for the disciples, and also for the sake of offering to you all, Victorious One, I am for that, and it is fitting to bestow your kindness. Just as all the perfect Buddhas dwell perfectly in Tushita, in the womb of the goddess Maya, from there dwell and do it here. Protector, always remain here, and transform this flower and so on. For the sake of the increase of the Bodhicitta of so-and-so, please accept it." Thus, one should remain in preparation three times. The offerings and so on should be done as before. Then, sitting outside, one should give the torma to the guardians of the directions. Then, entering inside, one should tie a triple-braided thread with three knots, recited with the mantra of all actions, to the right hand of each disciple. One should protect the disciples by sprinkling water recited with the mantra of all actions. One should associate with disciples who possess this purification and all activities, and make them recite these. Whatever the mantra recites slightly, with offerings and so on, by the ritual, in generating great fruits of offering and charity, act without deceit. Thus it is. Then, in order to pacify obstacles, one should lie down reciting the root mantra completely. This is the ritual of complete consecration. Then, on another day, according to the characteristics of how it is said, the mantra should give a peaceful torma. Sitting with devotion to the deity, having done the yoga of the deity, showing the image to the east, wearing yellow clothes, having perfected with the complete yoga of the previously spoken characteristics, and possessing all kinds of excellence, one should bless the heart, throat, and crown with the three syllables HUM (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), AH (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), and OM (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning).
