Practices and empowerments were also performed. Then, the ritual was conducted with smoke offerings and scattered offerings, as well as offerings and praises. The syllable Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hūṃ) was infused into the tongue. Each person offered the fire oblation of the other with their own mantra, as before. All the materials of the implements were mixed together. The fire oblation was offered once, three times, seven times, twenty-one times, one hundred and eight times, one thousand times, or one hundred thousand times, as much as could be obtained, as before. Then, one should contemplate that all the substances for the fire offering fall perfectly into the tongues of all the deities. At the time of empowerment, offerings are presented, and the thumbs of the left hands of the disciples are held separately. If three or seven fire oblations are given by oneself or another, then for the sake of the king, the lord of the land, the Sangha, the goddesses, and the guardians of the directions, and for the purpose of increasing oneself, the fire oblation should be burned. Having performed the fire offering as much as possible in this way, finally, the essence of the lineage, three, seven, or twenty-one times, should be ignited with a ghee fire offering. Then, having offered the complete fire oblation, offered betel nut without scattered offerings and powder, as well as clothes and so on, and having made offerings and praises. Then, having pleased and satisfied all those deities with substances such as sandalwood and ghee, holding in their hands vases filled with jewels and nectar, emanating from the clouds of their own bodies, empowering the one to be accomplished and making him into a Vajra body, contemplating that his house is also completely filled with many jewels, and also generating accomplishments such as swords, and viewing the clouds of one's own body as completely merging into oneself. Then, the mantra practitioner, joining the palms of flower mudras and placing them equally, bowing the body, in order to pacify the faults of inferiority and emptiness, and for the sake of the desired accomplishments, should request knowledge and forgiveness, saying: "O Blessed One, I am powerless, Lacking ability and ignorant, Inferior or superior, Whatever I have done, please forgive." This is how it is done. Then, one should recite "Vajrasattva" three times. Oṃ, may you accomplish all the benefits of beings, Grant the corresponding accomplishments, Having gone to the Buddha-field, I pray that you will come again. Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Vajra)
