The Sadhana of Glorious Hevajra. Composed by Master Padmasambhava. The Sadhana of Glorious Hevajra. Composed by Master Padmasambhava. In Sanskrit: Śrī Hevajra Sādhanam. In Tibetan: The Sadhana of Glorious Hevajra. Homage to Glorious Hevajra! I pay homage with reverence to the glorious and blessed Hevajra, And to the Mother of No-Self. By the kindness of the Vajra Master, I will explain the ritual of his sadhana. In the very beginning, the yogi, having generated the mind of enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings, should properly attend to the Lama Bhagavan, and enter the mandala of Glorious Hevajra according to the ritual, and having been empowered according to the order, having been truly and completely granted permission, having obtained the uncontaminated wisdom of suchness that is utterly pure, and having found the signs, and relying on the samaya substances such as the five ambrosias. Desiring to accomplish the Glorious Hevajra, together with the consort, one should dwell in a pleasing place such as a charnel ground, and make offerings and perform the torma, etc. In one's own heart, visualize a blue [Hūṃ](藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable on a sun arising from [Raṃ](藏文:རཾ,梵文天城体:रं,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,汉语字面意思:fire seed syllable). From that [Hūṃ](藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable, emanate five kinds of rays of light, spreading completely in the direction of the sky. With those rays of light, invoke the Bhagavan arising from Vajra, whose body is blue in color, with hands and hand implements appearing as described below, either with sixteen arms, or six arms, or four arms, or even two arms. Embracing one's own consort, with three eyes wide open, reddish-yellow hair standing on end, possessing the six mudras, surrounded by eight goddesses. Visualize inviting and invoking the deities, expanding and contracting, in the space in front. In front of him is the black Gaurī, holding the moon of bodhicitta in her hand. To the south is the Thief Woman, mustard-colored, holding a flower called the self-arisen sun in her hand. Behind him is the yellow Rolaṅgamā, holding a vajra water vessel. To the north is the emerald-like Zāphomā, holding secret medicine. In the direction of the Lord of Power is the blue Incense Woman, holding various kinds of meat. In the direction of fire is the white Charnel Ground Woman, holding a corpse in her hand. In the direction of the Rakshasa is the reddish-white Fierce Woman, making a sound by shaking small pebbles. In the direction of the Wind God is the Mole Woman.

Various colors entwine around one's own body. Like that, son, gazing at the sky as the body of the Bhagavan radiates and gathers, from the seed syllable residing in the sun at one's heart, light radiates, and after offering perfectly with the special offerings of outer, inner, secret, and suchness, one should confess sins and so forth before it. For as long as beginningless and endless samsara, all the sinful actions accumulated by inverted thoughts, those sinful actions that I have done, I confess all of them before the Bhagavan, and afterwards I will restrain myself. I rejoice in all the merits of all sentient beings, and I completely dedicate them to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Furthermore, I go for refuge to the Vajra who delights the Buddhas, making all three realms into the aspect of great bliss, of one taste, and the Dharma such as the mantras, mudras, and mandalas spoken by him, and the assembly of goddesses abiding in the turning of its wheel. In order to accomplish the purpose of benefiting all sentient beings, I will stabilize the mind in the essence of all supreme aspects and emptiness. After that, one should cultivate great love towards all sentient beings as if they were one's only child. Following that, seeing the helpless sentient beings drowning in the ocean of conceptual thoughts, one should stabilize the nature of great compassion, desiring to liberate all of them. Like that, the mantra practitioner who has attained great bliss, having abandoned the objects of contemplation, should recite the essence of suchness, which gathers all phenomena: Om Shunyata Jnana Vajra Svabhava Atmako Ham. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ་སྭ་བྷཱ་བ་ཨཱཏྨ་ཀོ྅ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ शून्यताज्ञानवज्रस्वभावात्माकोऽहम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ śūnyatājñānavajrasvabhāvātmako'haṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Emptiness Wisdom Vajra Self-Nature I). After reciting this mantra, one should contemplate the meaning of the mantra, that I, these three realms, am separated from self-nature. After that, from remembering the previous aspiration, one should visualize in the sky, in the center of the sun mandala arising from the syllable ra (Tibetan: ར༵, Sanskrit Devanagari: र, Sanskrit Romanization: ra, Literal Chinese Meaning: fire), from the syllable Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hum) truly arising, a three-pointed, multi-colored vajra possessing five lights, and from the light of the vajra, truly arising a vajra fence with a heap of flames that fulfills all desires. Inside that, one should visualize the vajra net dispelling all obstacles. In that center, one should visualize the wisdom pervading the sky, appearing as the form of E.
