Extensive Explanation of the Second Chapter Extensive Explanation of the Second Chapter Now, in order to explain the thirty-seven aspects of enlightenment, the Blessed One spoke of "Then," and so on. "Then" means that after the only distinction, the second distinction is explained. Or, "Then" is a type of word, meaning the treatise that elucidates and understands the various meanings of the first distinction, which means the purity of measurement. Here, the thirty-seven aspects of enlightenment refer to the five aggregates, five elements, five sense fields, and the five faculties of action and their five functions. The sixth is the aggregate of wisdom, the element of wisdom, the faculty of wisdom, the sense field of wisdom, and the faculty of action of wisdom and its function. What pervades all of these is the thirty-seven, which means the element of wisdom as a subject. Thus, there are thirty-seven dharmas, which are aspects of these dharmas. An aspect is called a limb. Its limb has three or many kinds of changes. All of these are explained, and what is being explained is extensively spoken. Among them, in "inner body," body refers to the aggregate of form. It has three forms, which are represented by the body. Here, the inner body is spoken of, the collection of inner heat of yogis, the samadhi like a vajra, the place where the life force is grasped, following the body, which refers to the self-aware wisdom, the object that is non-dual with one's own mind. This is also to show sentient beings, in order for sentient beings who have attained freedom to obtain the wheel jewel, which is to be practiced. Therefore, "mindfulness" and the word "of" mean to gather. Therefore, mindfulness is to correctly and completely understand, it is the king of gods understanding the actions of the bodies of sentient beings. Therefore, "the manifestation of the world with mindfulness" is

Having previously attained direct perception, therefore, those sentient beings to be tamed in the world that arise from oneself, he remembers and realizes them by the nature of that remembrance. Why is that? What of those sentient beings that arise from one's own nature, those who have previously accumulated roots of virtue, will be revealed? As it is said, isn't it from the difference of seeds that the difference of fruits arises? Just as from a sprout of rice arises a fruit of rice, and not barley. Thus, from a seed of a very pure mind, and from a special karma, a special fruit will arise, if someone doubts this, to that it is said, that is not right. What is the reason for that? Because it is said ignorance and displeasure. Here, what causes birth in samsara from the beginning is ignorance. Therefore, the faults of the habitual tendencies of the conceptual thoughts of all sentient beings will become bonds. Those who have realized, because they have destroyed them, will be liberated from bondage. However, due to the power of the habitual tendencies of previous karma, as long as one does not become a Buddha, one will not be liberated from the bondage of samsara, because the obscurations of one's own aggregates and so on have been exhausted, it is said to be liberation. Thus, one should illustrate the countless types of sentient beings and the countless types of Buddhas, like a water wheel that circulates mutually. Well, although it can be established that a son is born from a father, but the great wise man has qualities such as being endowed with Dharma, and his son is fond of evil deeds, ignorant, defiled by faults such as not practicing Dharma. Therefore, here ignorance and displeasure can produce special minds. Relying on the external body, all of that will be defiled by faults. Just as a clear mirror itself can show various things, therefore images appear in it, and the one that appears also abandons the previous form and becomes ignorant. However, here those who are clear in body, speech, and mind will become unclear, therefore, because people and others see various things, they abandon the clear previous form and become ignorant. By the cause of taming them, the four wisdoms of the Tathagata.
