Commentary on the Second Chapter Commentary on the Second Chapter First: The Chapter on Explaining Abiding Now, in order to explain the meaning shown in the subsequent chapter, "Vajra Essence requests" is in the manner of individually binding with the Dakinis. The Bhagavan Vajra (བཅོམ་ལྡན་རྡོ་རྗེ་) is the Vajra Holder. Essence (སྙིང་པོ་) is sara, which is the collection of essence. I (བདག་) am the self or the lord, Hevajra. Then it is connected to "Please explain." Or it is the collection of all Buddhas. Essence (སྙིང་པོ་) is becoming essence. It is the characteristic of abiding. It is connected to "Please explain." Its meaning is this. Abiding also requires prior recitation, that is, "Beyond the mantra of superior vision." Doing this is also done through the six limbs or three samadhis. There are also three types: numerical recitation, one hundred thousand and one thousand. The main deity and retinue must be complete. Time recitation, six months of habit, etc., should be understood as appropriate. The sign is given by the deity, or good omens appear in dreams, and to a qualified teacher, request two or three times. The previous land ritual should also be done according to the tenth chapter. Before that, in order to eliminate obstacles, perform fire offerings and other rituals as instructed. After making preparations and so on, the actions corresponding to oneself, fully complete, that is, after doing the six limbs or three combinations. Then, in order to make the earth goddess more abiding, make a mandala at the edge of the wind and spread some flowers. From "པཾ" (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: వం) generate a vase, and from that generate an earth goddess, body color yellow, right hand in the gesture of promise, left hand holding a vase. Invite the self-existing one, make offerings, and with the two words "Mama Jewel" and "Earth and Paramita" which come from other places, request as lord, merge or abide as lord. In order to make the deity more abiding, in the mandala room or elsewhere, smear the mandala with five combinations, draw a square fragrance point at the position of the main deity, and draw circles in other places. Visualize the lotus and the moon, recite their respective mantras, and have faith in the goddess. Place butter lamps and divine food, etc., there. The teacher generates the deity from the seed syllable and the mother's hand seal.

La! Before the wheel of wisdom, make supreme offerings, and perform summoning and other actions. Therein, bless the birthplaces, and bless the body, speech, and mind, bestow empowerment, make offerings, praises, taste nectar, and perform recitations until the very end. For the meaning of consecration, the words should be transformed. Then, the vase and all the implements should be especially established. Then, empower the patron and disciples, and prepare with copper. If empowerment is not given, then only purification and generating joy should be done. Then, for the consecration, first purify the image, etc., which should be done on the same day as the preparation. There are two preparations: purifying the support and inviting the deities. Purifying the support is to take the image from the row on a platform one cubit high and half a cubit thick. The five purifications are: first, purify with bathing, washing with fragrant water, etc. Then, pour mustard oil into the fire, recite the purification mantra, circumambulate, and do it. Then, do the same in the water as before. Then, purify with durva grass. Then, wipe with five tree barks. If these are not available, then smear with five products of a cow and ghee, and wipe with flour. Then, bathe from the vase of all actions. Perform auspiciousness, dispel obstacles, wash and wipe the image, and purify it. Bathe the thangkas, stupas, and temples with a mirror. Then, inviting the deities is to invite all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, make offerings and praises, and make supplications. Then, if empowerment is given early the next morning, ask about dreams, combine oral instructions, raise them in the sky, and mix and descend the points, colors, and oral instructions. Then, perform decorations, set up the mandala, and arrange the vases, etc. Then, the disciple of the action who is perfect and possesses the nature of six limbs or three combinations should accomplish the mandala, cultivate faith in the lama, meditate on transference, and generate the deity only from the seed syllable and hand gesture. Invite from the natural abode, mix, and make offerings, praises, and taste nectar. Then, there are four abidings within: namely, consecration, bestowing sovereignty, opening the eyes, and warming the face. There are two consecrations: common and special consecrations. Among them, the common one is the five purifications and the invitation of the deities.
