The Second Chapter on Mantras. The Second Chapter on Mantras. Having explained that the Body Vajra is inseparable from the Three Vajras, now the Blessed One reveals the Speech Vajra as being of the nature of the Three Vajras, saying: I shall explain the chapter on mantras. The meaning of the word 'mantra' is Speech Vajra. Its meaning is this: because it protects the mind, it is manifestly expressed as 'mantra.' The mind is the heart, and it protects and guards it, because the Mind Vajra rides on the wind. As the Blessed One also said: Embracing the young woman to the body, great desire arises. Here, the word 'young woman' refers to the wind. Or, it also pervades the entire body. The mantra that is inseparable from the Three Vajras is the mantra of sound that stimulates the meaning of Suchness. Completely covering and concealing is clothing, and because it takes and holds it, it is the sequential division of mantras. Saying 'I shall explain it' means that for the sake of the Dharma that is manifestly expressed, sound is to be realized by sound itself. By sound realizing sound, it is absorbed into sound itself. The indivisible Vajra Holder is of the nature of Nada, because it enables realization. Therefore, in order for the mantra practitioner to cut off all obstacles, having manifested mandalas and so forth, first he speaks the mantra for the food offering to all beings: Om Akaro Mukham Sarva Dharma Nam Adya Nutpada. Om Ah Hum Phat Svaha. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨ་ཀཱ་རོ་མུ་ཁཾ་སརྦ་བྷརྨཱ་ནཱཾ་ཨཱ་ཌྱ་ན་དཔ་ནྞཱུ་ཏྭཱ་ཏ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम् आकारो मुखं सर्वधर्मणामाद्यनुत्पन्नत्वात्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ ākāro mukhaṃ sarvadharmāṇāmādyanutpannatvāt, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, A is the door of all dharmas, all dharmas are unborn.) (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम् आः हूँ फट् स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ phaṭ svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum Phat Svaha.) Thus, he speaks the mantra for the food offering to all beings. 'Beings' means sentient beings. 'All' means without remainder. The six classes of beings, such as gods, are to be satisfied with offerings. This is the mantra of its meaning. What is this letter A like? It is the door of all dharmas, the first cause. 'Om' means to promise. How is it? As it is said: because it is unborn from the beginning, the nature of Dharma is unbornness itself. This Dharma is also the nature of the Three Vajras, for the sake of Om Ah Hum. 'Phat Svaha' means: Phat is wisdom. Svaha is skillful means, for the sake of the nature of skillful means and wisdom. This is wisdom.

All dharmas are shown to be the nature of the five grounds and the three bodies. Alternatively, Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:唵) is the conventional truth. A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿) is the ultimate truth. It is said in the scriptures: Sarva Dharmāṇāṃ Mukhaṃ (藏文:སརྦ་དྷརྨཱ་ནཱཾ་མུ་ཁཾ་ངོ༌,梵文天城体:सर्वधर्माणांमुखं,梵文罗马拟音:sarva dharmāṇāṃ mukhaṃ,汉语字面意思:一切法之门). From what does it arise? Ādya Nutpanna Tat (藏文:ཨཱ་དྱ་ནུདྤནྣ་ཏྭ་ཏ,梵文天城体:आद्यनुत्पन्नतत्,梵文罗马拟音:ādyanutpannatat,汉语字面意思:原始不生故). Firstly, the nature of the letter Oṃ is that because the conventional truth is unborn, and because of the nature of the ultimate truth, there is no conceptualization that is separate from the two. Therefore, Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:唵), Ā (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿), Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), and Phaṭ (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪特) are also inseparable. How are they inseparable? They are merely the body, speech, and mind of the one Vajra. Among them, Ha is the Vajra Holder, and A is selflessness, and the two are inseparable. The mantra of the torma for all beings is an offering of the nature of bodhi that satisfies all realms of sentient beings, and it is a sign that awakens the meaning of the Vajra nature. Alternatively, what is done is Kāro, it is action, but it is not a form that is similar to it. Of which ones? Sarva Dharmāṇāṃ (藏文:སརྦ་དྷརྨཱ་ནཱཾ་ཞེས་པའོ,梵文天城体:सर्वधर्माणां,梵文罗马拟音:sarva dharmāṇāṃ,汉语字面意思:一切法). From what does it arise? Ādya Nutpanna Tat (藏文:ཨཱ་དྱ་ནུདྤནྣ་ཏྭ་ཏ,梵文天城体:आद्यनुत्पन्नतत्,梵文罗马拟音:ādyanutpannatat,汉语字面意思:原始不生故). Therefore, it is Mukhaṃ (藏文:མུ་ཁཾ,梵文天城体:मुखं,梵文罗马拟音:mukhaṃ,汉语字面意思:门). The letter Oṃ is the inseparable three Vajras. That is, Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:唵), Ā (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿), Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), Phaṭ (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪特), and Svāhā (藏文:སྭཱ་ཧཱ,梵文天城体:स्वाहा,梵文罗马拟音:svāhā,汉语字面意思:梭哈), where Phaṭ is wisdom, and Svāhā is method, and these two are also inseparable. The letter Oṃ represents the three Vajras. The letter Ā is also the same. The letter Hūṃ is also the same, because it is the nature of the three realities, therefore the three also complete the mandala of the nine natures. Having thus shown the mantra of the nature of the collection of all Tathāgatas, now the seed syllables of the manner of the emanation of all Tathāgatas are spoken: Buṃ (藏文:བུཾ,梵文天城体:बुं,梵文罗马拟音:buṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Āṃ (藏文:ཨཱཾ,梵文天城体:आं,梵文罗马拟音:āṃ,汉语字面意思:昂), Jrīṃ (藏文:ཛྲཱྀཾ,梵文天城体:ज्रिं,梵文罗马拟音:jrīṃ,汉语字面意思:札仁), Khaṃ (藏文:ཁཾ,梵文天城体:खं,梵文罗马拟音:khaṃ,汉语字面意思:康), and Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Buṃ is Vairocana. Āṃ is Ratnasambhava. Jrīṃ is Amitābha. Khaṃ is Amoghasiddhi. Hūṃ is Akṣobhya. These two are the nature of emanation and collection, the fruit is the Vajra held by Vajradhara. Now, the mantra of the sixteen-armed one will be explained, first saying: Oṃ Deva Picu Vajra Hūṃ Hūṃ Hūṃ Phaṭ Svāhā (藏文:ཨོཾ་དེ་ཝ་པི་ཙུ་བཛྲ་ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ deva picu vajra hūṃ hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ svāhā,汉语字面意思:唵 德瓦 毕则 班杂 吽 吽 吽 啪特 梭哈). Among them, the letter Oṃ is the Vajra of the body. That is, the deity, is the deity who abides in the manner of emanation. That is, Picu, is nourishing, is the manner of collection.
