First, Explanation of the Chapter on the Vajra Family. First, Explanation of the Chapter on the Vajra Family. In Sanskrit: Śrī Hevajra Pañjikā Nāma Muktikā Avali. In Tibetan: Called the Difficult Explanation of Glorious Hevajra, the Pearl Garland. Homage to the Glorious Vajra Dakini! By placing the feet, causing the four lands to crumble, by laughing intensely, causing the earth-holders to overturn. With the rays of the eyes and the sound of the victory banner bell, destroying beings and then reviving them. Taming the arrogant and haughty, holding the means of displaying terrifying rituals. May the essence of the three secrets of the Buddhas, the dance of Heruka, protect you! Conforming to the measure, following the scriptures and teachings to explain, Clear and extremely beautiful, Like a pleasing pearl garland, Will make a difficult explanation of Hevajra. Those without faith are the words of the leader, The state of being one with the deity, Why is it the measure of omniscience? Reverence is not the transformation of omniscience. What the Buddhas have done is like not doing, Saying that he has spoken what he has not spoken. To the supreme, infallible Sugata of beings, Both are metaphors for slander. The Buddhas have spoken of many benefits, Beings take as they wish. Thus, in this commentary, in the explanation of the meaning, It is also done with desire. Without realization, there is no hearing, Without hearing, there is no thought. If both are lost, there is no yoga, Without yoga, there is no accomplishment. Thus, in this tantra, for a long time, Extremely tormented by desire, The pearl garland in the heart, Pierce through with this and seize it. Thus I have heard, etc., the opening words, some say that because it is abbreviated, it is another tantra. Others say that this is an excerpt from the second chapter of the great tantra, collected and placed as it is there, and here it is also collected together with the opening words. Others say that this is the supreme meaning of the great secret. Thus they say. This is true, but it is not appropriate to say it at first, and it relies on what will be said later and the letters, so connecting what will be said with other meanings is to create wonder in the ignorant. Therefore, the initial opening

This statement was also spoken by the Blessed One. Monks, my teachings should be collected thus: 'Thus have I heard.' Therefore, the collector speaks: 'Thus have I heard.' One teaches the Dharma after understanding what one has heard oneself, and one collects it after hearing it from the speaker. Therefore, the word 'heard' indicates the collector. If it is not heard directly, or if it is heard in another way, then the collector is not reliable. To clarify the difference between these two situations, the two words 'Thus have I' are spoken. Among them, 'I' means that I have heard it from the speaker himself, and it has not come from other hearings. 'Thus' means to collect it as it is, meaning: I have heard only this, and not something else. To indicate that in a suitable place, sometimes the speaker resides, and the suitable retinue gathers, the words 'at one time' etc. are spoken as the beginning. 'At one time' means at some time. 'Blessed One' refers to the Vajra Holder with the body of joyful Vajra. Because he possesses six qualities such as power, he is called 'Conqueror,' as it is said: 'Power and beauty, splendor and fame and wisdom, diligence fully endowed, these six are called Conqueror.' Because he possesses the qualities of the Conqueror, he is the Blessed One. 'Resides' means the dwelling place of the Buddhas. The dwelling place of the Buddhas is also fourfold: residing by conduct, residing by teaching the Dharma, residing by entering into samadhi, and residing by truly placing within. The cause of universal equipoise is residing, the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are always in equipoise. Therefore, slightly mentioning the activities of the body of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, is residing by conduct. Slightly mentioning the activities of their speech is residing by teaching the Dharma. Slightly mentioning their mind's activities of entering into samadhi or ordinary equipoise is residing by entering into samadhi. The Buddhas are happy with the Dharma they see.
