First, Explanation of the Vajra Family Chapter. First, Explanation of the Vajra Family Chapter. In Sanskrit: Hevajra-nāma-mahātantrarāja-dvikalpa-māyāsya-pañcikā-smṛti-ni-padā-nāma. (The Great King of Tantras, named Hevajra, the Difficult Commentary on the Second Chapter of Illusion, called the Source of Memory). Homage to the Bhagavan Hevajra! I bow to the great Vajra Master and the glorious protector Heruka. I will clarify the words of Hevajra, and write this down for the sake of remembrance. First, in order to guide those who possess conceptual thought, it is necessary to explain the speaker, the subject matter, the connection, the purpose, and the ultimate purpose. Among these, the collection of scriptures beginning with "Thus I have heard" is the speaker. The Bhagavan glorious Heruka and the Selfless Mother, etc., are the subject matter. The fact that they abide in the nature of speaker and subject matter is the connection. Entering the mandala, etc., and completely destroying all obscurations, the spontaneous perfection of the three bodies, which are the nature of supreme bliss, is the purpose. Making the immeasurable beings who dwell in samsara fully accomplish the perfect meaning of higher realms and definite goodness, according to their desires, is the ultimate purpose. It is also said: For the sake of others, the perfect fruit of the Buddha is considered the most excellent. Others, such as Buddhas, are not [the cause]. Therefore, it is said that it is the fruit of that. First, in order to gather correctly, to show the five meanings of who, when, where, from where, and with whom, [the phrase] "Thus I have heard," etc., is spoken. "Thus I have heard" is the nature of all the meanings of the tantra that will appear below, and it is related to hearing. "I" means not from another or others. "Heard" means that it is apprehended by the consciousness of hearing, but it is not directly perceived. "At one time" means that at one time this was heard, and at other times other things were heard. Thus, it shows that many hearings are gathered correctly. Bhaga-
