Third, the chapter of the Devas. Third, the chapter of the Devas. Now, I will explain the chapter of the Devas. Because it is said to arise from the body, it is also said to be the light of stainless radiance. Because the body is the nature of the five elements, and mundane happiness truly arises, therefore it is called a Deva. It is also said in the Glorious Vajra Amrita Tantra: Why is it called a Deva? Because the embodied dwells in the body, and it is said to be the one who realizes for the sake of realization. For the sake of realizing oneself, it is the Deva itself. Therefore, it is called a Deva. First, one should cultivate loving-kindness. Loving-kindness means thinking of benefiting and bringing happiness to others, including relatives, ordinary people, and enemies. Second is compassion, which is the wish to liberate all sentient beings from suffering and the causes of suffering, even willing to sacrifice one's own body and life to help them. Third, one should cultivate joy. Joy is being happy for the benefit of others. Fourth, one should cultivate equanimity. Equanimity is taking a tolerant attitude towards the faults of others. It is taking an attitude of equanimity towards everything. Now, after making preparations such as cleaning, sit comfortably on a soft cushion. Make pills of the nature of ten substances and put them in your mouth. Then, with the rays of light from the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) at your heart center, fill the entire sky. According to your own inclination, visualize the chief venerable ones, including the Guru, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas, embracing your own wisdom. The eight mothers surround them, visualize them in the sky. Then, those rays return and enter your heart, and from the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) emanate the eight goddesses, for the purpose of making offerings to the Bhagavan. Here, the invited ones are joyful, holding all kinds of ornaments. The eight goddesses make offerings. Gauri holds the symbol of the mountain rock. A vessel for overcoming thieves and demons. Ro Langma is the mother of the sailor. Ghasmari holds medicine. Pukkasi holds the vajra. Similarly, Ri Khroma holds a corpse. Dotapa Mo plays the changteu drum. Yungmo dances with desire. The moon is semen, the sun is dust. Water is called immovable. Medicine is meat and intoxicants. The vajra is Vairochana.

Said. The tastes are the six tastes as truly said. Gogu and others are strong Tiwu. Gara is an alcoholic beverage. This is said to be eight vows. Yogis, with these, make offerings to the main deity and retinue of Hevajra. Then, in front of them, the mantra reciter takes refuge in the Three Jewels. All sins are confessed, all merits are rejoiced in. One's own body is given away, and reliance on the path is also done. Bodhicitta is generated, then the Buddhas are invited to descend. Meditate on emptiness, and practice aspiration prayers and other activities. Because of the absence of inherent existence, it is emptiness; because of the absence of cause, there is no sign. Like illusions, dreams, and Gandharva cities, So too, sentient beings and Buddhas, are to be viewed by meditating on that. Just as reflections, so too, the Buddhas teach the Dharma. In the glorious Perfection of Wisdom, it is always said in the chapter on time, that there is no person, like an illusion, like a reflection. Son of lineage, you, in that way, by individually discriminating the Dharma with correct reasoning, following the speaker of Dharma, before long, will definitely arise in the Perfection of Wisdom. Having practiced in that way, in the interval of samsara, in the realm of existence, as a cause for subduing sentient beings, Bodhisattvas abide. The demons and afflictions dwell equally, and even the obscurations of knowledge, although definitely burned by the great wrathful ones, they also protect a small part. It is also said, the powerful one has great means, aspiration and wisdom are like an ocean, great love is immeasurable in nature, great compassion is the supreme of wisdom. Thus it is. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, having completely practiced all, meditate on emptiness. These mantras are to be recited. oṃ śūnyatājñānavajrasvabhāva ātmako'haṃ. Then remember the aspiration prayer, and with the mind of aspiration, the mantra reciter cultivates the pride of the deity with his own mind, for the sake of making beings play. Here, the mandala wheel that will be explained is visualized as being adorned with eight great charnel grounds, and in its center is an eight-petaled lotus and a solar mandala.
