First, the chapter on the Vajra family. First, the chapter on the Vajra family. In Indian language: Vajrapadasarasamgraha-pancika. In Tibetan: A concise commentary on the essence of the Vajra words. Homage to glorious Hevajra! Supreme emanation of all Buddhas, Vajrasattva who perfectly realizes, Lord of the five elements, I pay homage to the glorious Lama. With examples such as illusion, etc., whose essence is to be realized, to that Great Seal, I always respectfully prostrate. From the forehead to the end of the Vajra Jewel, filled with joy, etc., whatever arises at the end of being filled, I pay homage to that goddess. Now, for a while, here, the supreme order of the tantra of the glorious First Buddha, as it is, and the glorious Vajragarbha, etc., and also extracting from the well-explained teachings of the glorious Vajrapani and all other tantras, from the mudras, mandalas, mantras, fire offerings, and activities, etc., spoken from various transmissions, which are vast and frightening due to their unfathomable depth, and thus extremely condensed. In order to ascertain the words of glorious Hevajra, a little is briefly stated, for the sake of the great Kashmiri Pandit's own remembrance, who has obtained the lineage of the oral instructions of the holy Lama, and also for the sake of the disciples' realization, it is truthfully compiled and written. The rhetoric of poetry, not from the words of heretics, nor from arrogance, but from explaining the words of the all-knowing one, therefore, may the wise be patient. Among them, first, briefly, by the order of the glorious First Buddha, the meaning of the glorious Hevajra tantra is shown straightforwardly, and the order of the definitive meaning is clarified. How it arises is shown in brief, purification of obscurations is done in detail, the hidden meaning is extremely extensively shown, the teachings on the tantra are of three kinds. Those endowed with yoga who desire to manifest the Vajra vehicle should know. Only through the lineage order can the straightforward meaning and the definitive meaning be combined. All the mantras, mandalas, and deities of stiffness, etc., as well as behavioral symbols, similar views, as well as the meaning of fire offerings and vows, etc., the definitive meaning should be clarified, these are easy to understand for the straightforward meaning. The beginning, middle, and end of the tantra, all

This is certain. Here, too, the glorious, stainless light is proclaimed. Those who gather, such as the all-knowing teacher, expound the king of tantras. In order to destroy the attachment to good sounds by those who speak well, one should rely on the meaning itself. Some think that the sound is missing in the meaning, some think that long becomes short, some think that short becomes long, some think that the meaning of the fifth becomes the seventh, the meaning of the fourth becomes the sixth, some think that one word becomes many words, and many words become one word, some think that masculine words become neuter words, and neuter words become masculine words, some think that they originate from the crown of the head, from the teeth, from the palate, and so on, some think that what originates from the teeth becomes what originates from the palate and the crown of the head, and so on. Likewise, others should also be understood accordingly. Therefore, for those who aspire to omniscience, the great distinction between sound and non-sound is that even various bad dialects always enter the path of the great ones. Due to the power of the minds of sentient beings, in the supreme teachings of the all-knowing one, grammarians, arranged by gods and nagas, besides those who argue about sounds and seek meaning, even if the sound is missing and from the local language, those who possess yoga can grasp the meaning. Just as milk certainly enters the water, it first rises upwards and is drunk. In the realm of true ultimate meaning, the great ones never rely on words. The Bhagavan also taught: There are also four reliances, namely: one should rely on the meaning itself, and not rely on the words; one should rely on wisdom itself, and not rely on consciousness; one should rely on the sutras of definitive meaning, and not rely on the sutras of provisional meaning; one should rely on the Dharma itself, and not rely on the individual. Because of these words of the Bhagavan, one should not follow the words. Here, due to the various inclinations of sentient beings, there are many all-knowing ones, many languages of the all-knowing ones, many places of residence, many petitioners, and many teachers.
