Commentary on the First Chapter Commentary on the First Chapter First: Chapter on Explaining the Vajra Family In Sanskrit: Śrī Hevajrasya Vyākhyā Vivaraṇa Nāma. In Tibetan: Called "The Explanation and Detailed Commentary on Glorious Hevajra." Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! That which purifies the assembly of obscurations, Is cleansed by the empowerment of selfless milk. Like the Amla fruit, born for the benefit of others, May you, Vajra Holder, protect that! The mind of Hevajra is Hevajra itself, Wishing to manifest distinctions. Apart from the Vajra Holder himself, Who is the happy traveler in the three realms? With the thought born from the power of reverence, I praise Hevajra with a discerning mind. Yet, even praise is not exactly like that, But for the sake of deeply believing in one's own mind. Among these, what is called Hevajra is a different tantra, not arising from the great Hevajra. Why? Because one name expresses many things. Just as the sound "go" refers to livestock, land, high places, eyes, and so on. This different tantra is also realized through the lineage of the guru. Here, the compiler is Vajragarbha himself, and the one who requests is also him, as well as the goddesses such as Buddhalocana. Here, the teacher, the teaching, and the teacher are the compiler, and for the purpose of realizing the perfect place, the words "Thus I have heard" and so on are the words of the compiler. Why? Because understanding the greatness of the speaker and so on precedes, and following faith, one enters the teaching, for the purpose of clarifying the greatness of the speaker and so on, not for the purpose of clarifying the greatness of the teaching. Compiling is also necessary for the benefit of others. Therefore, its meaning is that the need of others is another name for the result. Among these, when the Bhagavan was once dwelling in the vajra-womb of the body, speech, and mind of all the Tathagatas, that is, the accomplishment of the great mudra.

The method is the desired Vajra? Or is it another? They each become different, such as Vajrasattva and others, when asked for the meaning of subduing. When doubts are dispelled about the method of accomplishing the great seal, the statement "I heard it directly from the Bhagavan" is the meaning of abbreviation. When the meaning of the limbs is to be stated, that is, by this very statement, all the Tathagatas who are about to be declared, etc., up to "the form of Sebra A," are said to be the tantra of the nature of what can be said and what is said. Why do I say it is an abbreviation? Is it transmitted from one to another? Or is it established for the meaning of this treatise? Or is it like that? Or is it just holding the meaning of the treatise and showing it in abbreviation? Answer: I say I heard, that is, I personally heard it directly from the Bhagavan, so holding the meaning of the treatise is neither a transmission, nor is it like that, nor is it just holding the body of the treatise. That is also declared together with the collection of the activities of the treatise. Glorious Heruka is what is to be said. If the Bhagavan is not the speaker, how can the compiler be? Answer: At one time, etc., because it is the nature of one mind. How is it? Answer: Viewing it as the nature of one, that is, the nature of mind. The time here, that is, the time when the gods gather, is the time, which is the meaning of the palace that becomes the support and the mandala that is supported. As it is said: "In the time of the mandala's determination, I, mantra, and mudra, The limit of the accomplishment of the gods, The Victorious One said is the time." Because བྷ་ག་(Tibetan,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,Literal meaning) is endowed with six aspects, therefore it is Bhagavan. Among them, the perfect freedom of Bhagavan is the nature of cutting off all habits, the nature of purity of conventional and ultimate truth, the extremely pure wisdom, because it is the nature of perfecting the benefit of oneself and others. The perfect beautiful form is like the appearance of an image in a mirror.
