The detailed meaning of this is explained in detail in the root tantra, the "Hundred Thousand," and should be learned from there. If you want to know all the mantras as they are, you should prostrate to the teacher, and with great devotion and reverence, request them to grant the true meaning of the mantras. To this, the virtuous teacher should, in a place where there are no outsiders, carefully smear clean earth and draw an eight-petaled lotus with pistils, decorated with four doors and four stables, and with eight pillars. Draw the excellent mandala of Hevajra, and then draw the two groups of retinues. In the center are Hevajra and the Selfless Mother, drawing the images of skulls and curved knives. On the first petal, the wise one should draw the sixteen vowels. On the second petal, draw the five letters beginning with ka.
