The Extensive Commentary on the Meaning of the Hevajra Compendium: The Vajra Essence The Extensive Commentary on the Meaning of the Hevajra Compendium The Vajra Essence The First Chapter, Complete In Sanskrit: Hevajrapiṇḍārthaṭīkā. In Tibetan: The Extensive Commentary on the Meaning of the Hevajra Compendium. Homage to glorious Hevajra! Having completely abandoned worldly conduct, the nature of the Victorious Ones constantly arises and pervades. Non-dual and free from defilement, non-sensory bliss, all-knowing, supreme and peaceful E-VAṂ (藏文,梵文天城体:एवं,梵文罗马拟音:evaṃ,汉语字面意思:Thus). The mind is not the mind, that mind is not material, universally possessing all faculties. I pay homage to the essence-body nectar of all the Buddhas for the sake of realization. The eight qualities arise from overcoming afflictions, the liberated ones, the eight faces of the chief ones. The sixteen emptinesses, hands, and also the compassion, these are all skull cups. Fifty immutable ones, expressing that very thing, arranged on the shoulders, with a garland of heads. On the crown is Akṣobhya, half-moon, a garland of vajras, possessing the nature of skull cups. With loving-kindness and so forth, and the excellent feet of liberation, he dwells, subduing the demons. Afflictions, knowable things, aggregates, and conjunctions, going to the chest, mudrās, with a tiger skin. On whom the obscurations of demons and so forth are like a mere fraction, Adorning that one for the sake of sentient beings. Having prostrated, I shall write the commentary that explains the secret of this tantra. Desiring to benefit all sentient beings, The powerful one of the ten bhūmis, The glorious Vajra Essence, In order to obtain the path of yogis, From the great tantra of five hundred thousand, The concise tantra is well extracted, Seven hundred and fifty verses. Here, possessing many vajra words, Urged by Hevajra, The text is six thousand verses, Whatever follows the root tantra, By this, the meaning of this tantra is clarified. In this age of the five degenerations, Whatever teachers will arise in the future, Although they teach yogic practice, They do not abide on the correct path, The concise tantra without commentary, Those who teach in a bad way, Desiring the wealth and women of others, They strive greatly to go to hell. Without the five superknowledges and so forth, Some will create commentaries. Prideful with treatises of logic.

do, despise the practice of yoga. The Buddha Vajrasattva himself, diligently held by empowerment. "I am the Vajradhara," some people will say to others. To all the monks who hold the precepts, they do not pay homage. On the ground, the Vajradhara himself, says, "I, the white-clad one, should be revered." Those who rely on merchants, commoners, etc., and those who enjoy farming. Ignorant ones sell the Dharma, enjoying what should not be enjoyed. Those who belong to the demon class will become the gurus of the disciples. With the guise of a yogi, they hide their own misdeeds. In order to abandon those faults, they will surely speak out. The guru's virtues should be upheld, but the disciple should never see faults. Holding onto faults, there is no accomplishment here, there is no doubt about this. Without compassion and with anger and malice, arrogant and attached without restraint, a self-praising guru should not be followed by a wise disciple. This word should not be spoken to the disciples in any way. Without compassion, those who engage in agriculture, angry and attacking the vital points. Malicious and hating monks and people, rigid and filled with bad knowledge. Greedy and seeking what should not be sought, excessively drinking alcohol without restraint. Here, they speak of self-praise, and reveal the faults of those with virtues. The Vajra guru who has obtained the supreme empowerment is the Tathagata. Those who dwell in the ten directions of the world, say that they come to prostrate in the three times. Not understanding this meaning, those who are fooled by mere names, after defaming the lords of the Buddhas, will go to weeping and wailing. The Vajrasattva from the crown of the head, the one who is empowered under the Bodhi tree, that one who has obtained the supreme empowerment, the Vajra guru is the Tathagata. The Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, whose bodies fill all the worlds, the five aggregates dwelling there, come to prostrate in the three times. Then the jeweled crown, various things, the world, the Buddha who dwells there, the one who is revered, is the yoga Vajra guru. As explained by the symbols, the urine and semen of Vairochana, Akshobhya and light
