为了自身寂静而行持，若不勤奋修持，则愿望终究不会圆满。 为了救度一切众生而发起精进，还求什么呢？ 因此，您不顾自己的安乐，为了菩提而精进。 您在财富微薄之时，也不舍弃布施的意愿。 即使财产微薄，也以不畏惧乞求者的心施舍。 即使拥有巨大的权势，也没有违背正道的言辞。 即使年华正盛，对欲望也没有贪恋之心。 您在博学多闻、智慧广大之时，也不自我赞扬。 对于功德微小的其他众生，也给予高度的尊敬。 安住于功德之聚时，也认为自己的行为有微小的过失。 对于愚昧无知的众生，不施加努力，安乐地安住。 您的心虽然因厌倦轮回和烦恼而喜悦寂静， 但以慈悲所作的功德，与众生相随顺。 您虽然明知除了作者之外，他人无法享受果报， 但为了增长众生的财富，而积累福德之宝。 您所拥有的智慧等一切功德， 都为了众生的利益而亲近行持。 因此，您的福德果报没有其他的去处， 即使将这些完全回向给众生的财富，也没有毫无意义。 您从未有过与利益他人的方便分离的时刻， 方便不小，果报不会没有，果报也不会小。 对于造作微小福德者，您并不感到欢喜， 如同大海一样，不会因微小的福德之水而满足。 夜晚秋季的满月，光芒四射，令人赏心悦目， 池塘中盛开的莲花，清醒而庄严地映入眼帘， 山峦上树木繁茂，鲜花盛开，百花点缀山顶， 这些都无法夺走您一心利益他人的喜悦智慧。 当世间被痛苦所折磨时，您以慈爱之心， 以慈悲之心明了，不应享受世间的安乐。

To practice for one's own peace, If one does not cultivate diligence, one's wishes will never be fulfilled. Having initiated diligence to liberate all beings, what else is there to wish for? Therefore, disregarding your own happiness, strive for enlightenment. Even when your wealth is meager, you do not abandon the intention to give. Even with little property, you give with a heart that does not fear beggars. Even with great power, you have no words that contradict the Dharma. Even in the prime of youth, you have no attachment to desires. Even when you are learned and wise, you do not praise yourself. You highly respect other beings with small merits. When dwelling in a collection of virtues, you consider even small faults in your own conduct. You abide peacefully, without exerting effort on ignorant beings. Although your mind is pleased with peace, weary of existence and afflictions, The virtues you perform with compassion are in accordance with beings. Although you know that no one but the doer experiences the result, You accumulate treasures of merit to increase the wealth of sentient beings. Whatever qualities you possess, such as wisdom, You closely apply them for the benefit of beings. Therefore, your fruits of merit have no other destination, And even if you dedicate them entirely to the wealth of beings, it is not meaningless. You have never had a time when you were separated from the means of benefiting others. The means are not small, the result is not without, the result is not small. You are not pleased with those who perform small merits, Like the ocean, you are not satisfied with small streams of merit. The full moon of autumn night, radiant with light, is pleasing to the eye, The lotus flowers blooming in the pond, awake and majestic in the eyes, The mountains covered with trees and flowers blooming, hundreds adorning the peaks, These cannot steal away your joy and wisdom that solely benefit others. When the world is tormented by suffering, you, with loving-kindness, With a compassionate mind, understand that worldly pleasures should not be enjoyed.

此后，即使您拥有四大部洲的统治权，各个地方也不能夺走您的心。您全心全意地为他人着想，时间过得非常快。富裕和财富没有被乞求者好好利用，就像墓地里树木鲜花盛开，果实累累一样。因此，由于福报浅薄的财富没有被乞求者使用，您没有乞求者的财富，这让您感到遗憾。有些人像无情的商人一样，为了果实而寻求，他们也不愿意将果实施舍给乞求者。因此，您的布施对其他时间有益，因此，它的果实也被乞求者握在手中。就像山坡上果实成熟的树木上的鸟儿一样，就像寺院里被生长茂盛的树木环绕的池塘边的劳动者一样。无所顾忌的乞求者们欢喜地前来寻求您唾手可得的财富，乞丐们从四面八方迅速赶来，聚集在一起。当您布施财富、臣民、妃嫔，甚至自己的血肉和生命时，您是如何努力将您年轻俊美、如秋月般皎洁无瑕、容貌端庄的儿子布施给乞求者的？像这样习惯于布施，您的心也变得坚定了。无论听到什么，如果会对这个世界造成伤害，或者您自己也不会长期忍受的，那些行为您已经习惯了，久而久之就成了您的本性。因此，没有完全习惯的功德是难以增长的。就像医生被邪魔附体，为了驱除邪魔而殴打和说粗暴的话，但不会殴打被附体的人一样。同样，您也以无情的方式对待烦恼，但您却慈悲地对待被烦恼所困扰的众生。您总是恭敬地积累功德和剩余的财富。为了让平等的人习惯功德，您以慈爱之心对待他们。对于弱者，您以慈悲和卓越的努力来创造功德。您以适当的方式善待众生。

Thereafter, even though you possess the dominion of the four continents, the various places cannot steal your heart. You wholeheartedly think of others, and time passes very quickly. Wealth and possessions are not well utilized by beggars, just like trees in cemeteries blooming with flowers and laden with fruit. Therefore, since wealth with meager merit is not used by beggars, you have no wealth for beggars, which makes you feel regretful. Some people, like heartless merchants, seek for the sake of fruit, and they are also unwilling to give the fruit to beggars. Therefore, your giving is beneficial to other times, so its fruit is also held in the hands of beggars. Just like birds on trees with ripe fruit on hillsides, like laborers by ponds surrounded by lush trees in monasteries. Unrestrained beggars joyfully come seeking your readily available wealth, and beggars quickly arrive from all directions and gather together. When you give away wealth, subjects, consorts, and even your own flesh and life, how diligently do you strive to give your young, handsome son, as radiant and flawless as the autumn moon, with a beautiful form, to beggars? Having become accustomed to giving like this, your heart also becomes firm. Whatever is heard, if it will cause harm to this world, or what you yourself will not endure for long, those actions you have become accustomed to, and over time, they become your very nature. Therefore, virtues that are not fully accustomed to are difficult to increase. Just as a doctor is possessed by a demon, and in order to dispel the demon, he beats and speaks harsh words, but does not beat the one who is possessed. Likewise, you also act without affection towards afflictions, but you show compassion towards beings afflicted by afflictions. You always respectfully accumulate merit and surplus wealth. In order to make equals accustomed to merit, you treat them with loving-kindness. For the weak, you create merit with compassion and excellent effort. You treat beings well in a way that is appropriate for them.
