Thereafter, it is for the sake of abandoning what is to be abandoned through meditation. The demonstration of obtaining the fruit from that is "entering the ground," etc. The ground is the supramundane ground, namely, the eighth ground, the seeing, the thinning, the detachment from desire, the realization of what has been done, the entering into the ground by the solitary realizer, and also the entering from the Extremely Joyful to the Cloud of Dharma. Here, with the sixteen moments of wisdom that contemplate the sixteen aspects of the four truths, having abandoned the eighty-eight subtle latent tendencies, it is the eighth ground or the Extremely Joyful Ground on the path of seeing. Thereafter, from the abandonment of the ten things to be abandoned through meditation in that very manner, the remaining grounds of the Hearers and Solitary Conquerors are established, namely, the three aspects of desire, the six aspects, the nine aspects, and the exhaustion of the nine aspects of the peak of existence, from which the grounds of Increase, Thinning, Detachment from Desire, and Realization of what has been done are obtained. The simultaneous abandonment and completion of the path is the rhinoceros-like ground. The remaining grounds of the Bodhisattvas are to be understood as being established from the complete perfection of the perfections. The obscurations of afflictions of those are abandoned through meditation, and are abandoned simultaneously with the vajra-like samadhi, while the obscurations of knowledge are abandoned gradually on each ground. Some say that the obscurations of afflictions are also abandoned gradually on each ground, and the abandoner is the wisdom of selflessness of phenomena. Having thus explained abiding in the accumulation of wisdom, now, in order to show abiding in the accumulation of merit, it is said: "Acting for the sake of sentient beings, purifying the Buddha-fields." The benefit of sentient beings is the need, namely, happiness and benefit. Accomplishing those is done as much as possible with the objects of collection, the immeasurables, and the perfections. The fields of the Buddhas are the container and its contents. Purifying those is as it is said in the Victorious Mother: "If one sees sentient beings with poor clothing, one should make the aspiration that in my Buddha-field, those sentient beings are adorned with bodies, clothing, and ornaments. If there is a lack of flowers, one should make the aspiration that in my Buddha-field, flowers of all times are fully blooming."

Wa ༄། །It is called "to be done," and so on. In short, it should be understood that the Buddha-field is purified by the power of aspiration. As for "to the great Sangha of the Noble Ones," it is noble because it is far from sinful and unwholesome dharmas, and the Sangha is as previously explained. "Great" means great in number and qualities. Because it possesses infinite numbers and great qualities such as well-entered. "Prostration" means that all the limbs of the body, together with praise, are extremely reverent. Thus, by prostrating to the Three Jewels, which embody all qualities, and taking refuge in them, one will not be born in the evil realms, but will be born in the realm of the gods. Taking refuge in the Three Jewels is the gateway to the appearance of Dharma, and it is the path to completely escape from the evil realms. As it is said, "If one takes refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, or Sangha with a very pure mind and a subdued mind, with a clear mind that is not distracted elsewhere, then at the time of death, with a very pure mind and the cause of taking refuge, one will be born in a corner of the world in the happy realm of higher realms." Having been born there, that body will be endowed with splendor, the body will be adorned with its own light, and will abide in bliss. If the merit of prostration and taking refuge is endowed with complete dedication, then it should be understood that it will become the cause of liberation as it is dedicated. Thus, abandoning all faults, becoming a treasure of infinite qualities, the words of praise of the Three Jewels, having spoken a little of the collection of virtues obtained, may all beings, by this, abide in the state of Buddhahood. The commentary on the Praise of the Three Jewels, composed by the teacher Gyalwai Se, is completed. The Indian Abbot Jñānaśānti and the Tibetan translator Bande Palgyi Lhunpo translated, revised, and finalized it. Commentary on the Praise of the Three Jewels. Gyalwai Se.
