Let us refer to 'The Auspicious Ocean,' the consecration ritual composed by Kunchen Sonam Senge (the Second Sakya Trizin), the second king of the earth. Regarding the method of creating the image of glorious Great Black Vajra (Pal Dorje Nakpo Chenpo), although it has not been clearly revealed in the manner of concealment by the previous lamas, fearing that those of lesser intelligence like myself may make mistakes, I have based it on the method of creating images composed by the Dharma King Phagpa Rinpoche (Chögyal Phagpa), and the method of creating painted images composed by Dampa Rinpoche Kunga Drak. Furthermore, relying on the trustworthy key points of the oral instructions of the previous lamas, I have clearly set forth these instructions. This was written by Sakyapa Ngag gi Wangpo Kunga Rinchen, who respectfully takes upon his head the dust from the feet of the venerable, possessing great compassion without object, the great translator of Sakya, Jamyang Kunga Sonam Drakpa Gyaltsen Palzangpo, who saves beings from the suffering of samsara merely by hearing his name, and his holy heart-son Yongdzin Konchok Lhundrubpa, and the great accomplished Pelden Tashi, and other holy lamas. At the time of building the image of Great Black Vajra in Jagyur Dorje Drakdzong, the solitary mountain retreat blessed by the venerable previous lamas, due to the occurrence of many trustworthy auspicious coincidences, and with the clear appearance in my mind of these arrangements of practice, I have written this down. If there are any faults in this, may the lamas and dakinis forgive me. Through this action, may all enemies of the teachings be vanquished, and may the genuine teachings of the Sakyapas never decline, but increase more and more! Mangalamastu sarvajagat!
