Homage. Homage. Second, the homage is: Bhagavan, etc., I prostrate. So, who is the object of prostration? It is the primordial Buddha Samantabhadra, whose basis is the knowledge of the three root consciousnesses, dispelling ignorance, subduing the four maras in the realm of reality, and possessing the ten powers of knowing as it is and knowing as many as there are, having attained manifest realization, and having obtained the great wisdom dharmakaya that transcends the two extremes of grasping and being grasped. With the form of the two form bodies, he lit the lamp in the world, and with the power of great deeds, he shook samsara from its roots. The "All-Illuminating" says: By the wisdom of realization, the maras of wrong views are subdued, and possessing the power of knowledge, and transcending the extremes of grasping and being grasped, therefore he is the Bhagavan. The "Commentary on Valid Cognition" says: Clearing away the net of conceptualization, possessing a deep and vast body, may the rays of light of Samantabhadra, radiate from everywhere, I prostrate. Realizing the meaning of the utterly stainless, self-existing nature of reality, is the glory of self, and the spontaneous manifestation of the form body, is the glory of compassion for others, and the mind does not waver from the nature of reality, and the field of activity is completely pure, is Ku(ཀུན,kun, all)ntu(ཏུ,tu,entirely)bzang(བཟང,bzang, good)po(པོ,po,one), as the "Secret of Wisdom" says: The nature is unwavering, spontaneously perfect, the field of activity is Samantabhadra. Therefore, to the teacher Samantabhadra, not only that, but also to all the Buddhas who have become enlightened as the essence of the five Samantabhadras, which are the basis, path, and fruit of all dharmas, I prostrate. The nature of reality, suchness, is enlightened in freedom from elaboration, is the basis Samantabhadra. The self-born nature of bodhicitta, enlightened as the wisdom of the three bodies, is the awareness Samantabhadra. Awareness is adorned with emptiness, emptiness is adorned with wisdom, the adornment of the body of wisdom is light, the adornment of light is the pure lands, etc. Even when the pure threefold adornment appears, and one is deluded into the impure threefold due to attachment, the essence of the adornment has never departed from Samantabhadra, because impurity does not exist on the basis. This is the adornment Samantabhadra. The teacher of this tantra, Samantabhadra, is as before. Realization or the path Samantabhadra, is the one who distinguishes the boundary between samsara and nirvana by realizing and familiarizing with the way things are. These are also the mind of Samantabhadra.

From the Mirror of Wisdom: All dharmas should be understood as having the nature of the five Samantabhadras. What are they? They are: Nature Samantabhadra, Ornament Samantabhadra, Teacher Samantabhadra, Awareness Samantabhadra, and Realization Samantabhadra. Son of lineage, the intention of all Buddhas should be understood as having the nature of the five Samantabhadras. Thus it is said. Having directly seen the form of Padmakara in the past, I prostrate to awareness. Now, in order for it to manifest as it is for us, we should practice diligently. If not, we should still prostrate with devotion. Among these, first, the inseparable and mingled prostration is as stated in the Peaceful and Wrathful Garland: Just as water is placed in water, just as oil is placed in oil, I prostrate with the mingling of non-dual awareness. Second, the prostration of obscuration and means is as stated in the Hevajra: Whoever, having realized, enters through measurement (examination), I prostrate here. Third, the prostration of noble conduct is as stated in the Bhadracaryapranidhana: I prostrate with pure body, speech, and mind. Thus, it is sought by combining intelligence and effort. Third, explaining the introduction, there are two aspects: the basis of what is being discussed, and how and where it is being discussed. First, the six phrases such as samsara and nirvana: Because the true nature of the basis of reality is not realized, one continuously revolves in the high realms such as the gods and the lower realms such as hell, like the buckets of a waterwheel. And also, by realizing and knowing, one passes beyond existence and the peace of compassion, which is truly nirvana. That which becomes the supporting dharma of these is: the twenty aspects of samsaric dharma, such as the five poisons, five aggregates, five faculties, and five objects; and the nature of all the twenty-five aspects of the resultant dharma of nirvana, etc., is that of the peaceful cessation of elaboration, and because there is no pain of change, nirvana is great bliss, the dharmakaya of essential nature, primordially liberated. This is not like a temporary or subsequent liberation, but rather, in essence, from the very beginning, there has never been the cause of delusion, the deluder, the delusion, or the result of delusion. Therefore, delusion is primordially pure, and one is presently perfectly enlightened. The cause of delusion, ignorance and grasping, is pacified on the ground.
