The Noble Essence of the Infallible Lasso, a Mahayana Sutra The Noble Essence of the Infallible Lasso, a Mahayana Sutra In Sanskrit: Āryamoghapāśahṛdayaṃ nāma mahāyānasūtra. In Tibetan: The Noble Essence of the Infallible Lasso, a Mahayana Sutra. Homage to the Noble Infallible Lasso! Homage to the Buddha! Homage to the Great Compassionate One! Thus have I heard. Once, the Blessed One was on the summit of Mount Potalaka, in the abode of the Noble Avalokiteśvara, surrounded by many such as Mala, Damala, Zampaka, the Sorrowless Tree, and Atimukta, and adorned with various jeweled trees. There were twelve thousand great monastic communities of monks, ninety-nine kotis of bodhisattvas, and many thousands of sons of the Pure Abodes, all gathered around and before him. He was dwelling together with many, teaching the Dharma, with the lords, the great lords, and the sons of the Brahma lineage as the main ones. Then, the bodhisattva mahasattva, the Noble Avalokiteśvara, arose from his seat, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, and knelt on his right knee. He bowed to the Blessed One with palms joined, and with a smile on his face, he spoke to the Blessed One as follows: Blessed One, I have the essence of the infallible lasso. In the past, ninety-one kalpas ago, in the world realm called 'Worldly Vision,' I received it from the Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha, the Lord of the World, the King. Moreover, many hundreds of thousands of sons of the Pure Abodes, with the lords and great lords as the main ones, have also gathered. I have attained hundreds of thousands of the tenth samadhi, the chief of the wisdom of the infallible lasso of unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Furthermore, when the Blessed One is to be realized by practicing in one direction of the earth, Blessed One, at that time and place, the lords, the great lords, and the Brahma lineage
