The Tantra of the Various Emanations from the Mother Tārā, the Mother of All Tathāgatas. The Tantra of the Various Emanations from the Mother Tārā, the Mother of All Tathāgatas. In Sanskrit: Sarva Tathāgata Mātrṇītāra Viśvakarma Bhava Tantra Nāma. In Tibetan: The Tantra of the Various Emanations from the Mother Tārā, the Mother of All Tathāgatas. Homage to the Noble Mañjuśrī! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in the abode of Tuṣita, together with immeasurable beings such as the Bodhisattva Maitreya and Mañjuśrī, as well as Kurukulle, Leaf-Clad Savari, and immeasurable beings such as Brahma and Indra, holding immeasurable divine flowers such as lotuses, water lilies, and mandāravas, as well as immeasurable divine musical instruments such as conches, lutes, drums, clay drums, and six-stringed lutes, and immeasurable divine umbrellas, victory banners, and flags, circumambulating the Blessed One from the right, and offering clouds of various offerings. Then, the Blessed One entered into the samādhi called "Vajra-like, Utterly Subduing the Hostile Foe." As soon as he entered into it, the great earth shook, the mandala of the Māras was destroyed, and a great light was emitted. That is to say, various lights, white, red, yellow, green, and blue, were emitted, purifying all suffering beings, and Tārā, the mother of all Buddhas, merged into the crown of Kurukulle. As soon as she merged into the crown, a rain of offering clouds also fell. Then, that goddess became like the orb of the sun free from clouds. At that time, she was praised with this verse of praise: All Buddha-fields are completely pure, Precious flowers rain down in abundance, The mother who gives birth to all Buddhas of the three times, Mother Tārā, I prostrate and praise you. Thus he spoke. At that time, the Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī, having become a youth, bared one shoulder, placed his right knee on the ground, and the Blessed

Request to the Bhagavan. Bhagavan, why do all the Buddhas of the three times arise because of their profoundness? What is the mother? The Bhagavan said: Manjushri, it is indeed true that all the Buddhas of the three times are unborn, unceasing, immaculate, without separation from defilement, without decrease, without increase, and are naturally in nirvana. Therefore, the nature of all dharmas is such. The Bodhisattva Manjushri Kumara said: Bhagavan, the Buddhas of the three times are unborn, unceasing, immaculate, without separation from defilement, without decrease, without increase, and are naturally in nirvana, so how can they arise? The Bhagavan said: Manjushri, what is called nirvana is the ultimate truth. What is called nirvana is the realm of dharma. It is the supreme word of the ultimate reality. It is great compassion. It is the supreme word of the conventional nature of samsara. Transcending this is the mother who gives birth to the Buddhas of the three times. Therefore, it is samsara and nirvana. Manjushri, in this way, one should contemplate it as the mother in one's mind. The Bhagavan said: Manjushri, therefore, by knowing the suchness of all dharmas, one should meditate on this. This dharani mantra should be recited. It should be diligently practiced. Its virtues should be known. It should be worshiped. Its teachings should be received. There should be no doubt. One should be diligent in one's actions. One should contemplate its praise in one's mind. It should be practiced through the gates of individual actions. Thus it was taught to the Bodhisattva Manjushri Kumara. This is the chapter of the introduction, which is the first chapter. Then, the Bodhisattva Manjushri Kumara requested the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, how should this be practiced? How should one be diligent in this? After speaking, the Bhagavan said: Manjushri, one should contemplate in this way. Manjushri, all dharmas are unborn. All dharmas are unceasing. All dharmas are free from defilement. All dharmas are in nirvana and are naturally pure, one should meditate in this way. Manjushri, therefore, this mantra should be recited. Om Svabhava Shuddhah Sarva
