The sons of the gods praised with verses: Avalokiteśvara, embodiment of compassion, Thousand hands liberating from afflictions, Thousand eyes, wisdom's clear light, I prostrate and praise your deeds for beings' sake. Having praised thus, the body of the Blessed One, the Great Compassionate One, became invisible, and transformed into the Blessed One Śākyamuni. Then, a son of the gods asked: What is the benefit of this? The Blessed One replied: Whoever keeps this lineage in mind Will be freed from fear of disease, demons, epidemics, Kings, and wild animals, And from all fears. Attachment, hatred, and ignorance, And all the sins of the five heinous crimes and non-virtue, Will be completely pacified. From hells and the suffering of bad migrations, And from the eight unfree states, one will be liberated, And will hear, hold, and meditate. The Blessed One, like the center of a stainless sky, Will also be seen. Having spoken thus, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, the noble Avalokiteśvara, arose from his seat, bowed to the feet of the Blessed One, and said, "Excellent! Excellent!" Then he returned to his seat.
