These secret mantras of the sole hero, and the own deeds of all the Tathagatas, should be performed. All actions should be performed with this root mantra itself; there is no other mantra that is beyond it. This mantra is accomplished through recitation. Then, one should make vast and extensive efforts towards it. How the wealth is, how the measure is, and how clear they are, all should be done with wealth, completely perfect, and very clear. Having bathed with pure water, one should wear clean clothes. Faith, respect, and supreme joy should be generated. One should speak the truth, one should appear outwardly in truth, one should appear with sincere joy and effort. One should become without backbiting, slander, and stinginess. One should practice the path to enlightenment of the Buddha, and this mantra that is accomplished through recitation. One should have supreme love for all sentient beings. One should write, one should inquire, one should read, one should recite, one should make offerings, one should draw, one should fully understand. This great king of elaborate rituals has been spoken, and this truly wonderful mandala of liberation of the unfailing snare, which all Bodhisattvas have prostrated to, the common secret vow of the lineage of all the Tathagatas, the secret of all the mandalas that are unfolded in sequence, this elaborate ritual of the secret of all mudras and mantras. This was spoken by the noble Avalokiteśvara. Then, also the gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, and all humans, went to where the Bodhisattva Mahasattva noble Avalokiteśvara was with the great mandala of his retinue, and where the Tathagata was manifest. Having arrived there, they went before the Bodhisattva Mahasattva noble Avalokiteśvara, prostrated with their heads to his two feet, joined their palms, and prayed thus: Blessed One, please allow me to receive this. The unfailing iron hook, and the king of elaborate rituals, even the supreme king, this elaborate ritual.

It has the meaning of completely protecting, and it will not perish but will flourish. This is a complete writing of the King of Detailed Rituals as it was found. This was previously translated by four learned translators who divided the work, but it was interrupted from time to time and the ending was incomplete. Later, a Chinese version appeared in the hands of the great Kalachakra master Chokyi Drakpa Pal Zangpo, and based on his command to fill in the gaps and translate the ending. Among them, in the tenth chapter, from "accomplishing all the purposes of action" to "recite the supreme secret mantra"; in the twelfth chapter, from "Bhagavan, however, for the sake of special meaning" to "the body of the vidyadhara will blaze"; in the thirteenth chapter, from "merely hearing this mandala ritual" to "how much earth should be dug"; in the fourteenth chapter, from "completely reciting on lotus, water, and mustard seeds" to "should be wiped with a white cloth, seven times"; at the end of the fifteenth chapter, from "eight silver bowls" to "in all other places, do all things as you wish"; at the end of the sixteenth and seventeenth chapters, from "then the homa ritual should be explained" to "the ritual of mudras and the ritual of sadhana"; after the seventeenth chapter, immediately following the end of the eighteenth chapter, from "then the mandala ritual of constant recitation should be explained" to "the homa of the rays of the Protector of the World is completely liberated," the errors were corrected. Translated and proofread by Shakya Bhikshu Rinchen Drup, the scribe was the yogi siddha Pal Zangpo.
