If blown at the four gates of the city, all disasters and harms, and crop failures and, malignant diseases and, fights and, arguments and, conflicts and, backbiting and, unrest and, riots will be pacified. All fears of bhutas and, yakshas and, rakshasas and, flesh-eaters and, pretas and, vampires and, nightmares will not occur. All epidemics will be pacified. All diseases will be pacified. One will be completely liberated from all secret mantras and, curses and, abusive language and, fear of poison. If blown at the king's gate, all fear of the enemy's armies and, enemies and, rebels will be completely pacified, and it will never happen again. When great fears of cattle dying and, livestock dying and, people dying and, horses dying and, elephants dying and, mules dying and, disasters and, crop failures and, diseases and, eye diseases and, all diseases occur, if the sound of the conch shell is blown loudly once on the roof of the house and recited, everything will be completely pacified in the instant of blowing. When it does not rain, if blown by the lake where the nagas live, the naga kings will immediately send down rain. Just by performing twenty-one fire offerings, it will become greatly peaceful within a yojana. All harms of epidemic diseases, as well as fighting, arguing, and conflicts, will be completely pacified. If one performs one hundred and eight fire offerings, one will have accomplished the great deed of pacifying within a thousand yojanas. If for increase, mix mustard seeds, rice, sugar, honey, and butter, and perform the fire offering. If one performs seven fire offerings, it will become greatly prosperous within a hundred yojanas. If one performs twenty-one fire offerings, it will become greatly prosperous within a hundred yojanas. If one performs one hundred and eight fire offerings, it will become greatly prosperous within a hundred thousand yojanas. Ignite with the fire of a tree with an unpleasant smell, mix rice husks, salt, mustard seeds, and butter, ignite with the fire of thorny firewood, and perform seven, twenty-one, or one hundred and eight fire offerings, then one will accomplish all the deeds of manifestation, fulfilling whatever one thinks and desires in one's mind. If one wishes to accomplish secret mantras, mix rice grains, mustard seeds, yogurt, and honey with butter, ignite with the fire of the Arka tree, and perform seven fire offerings, then one will accomplish the practice of one's own wrathful deity's secret mantra. If one performs fourteen, one will accomplish the meaningful iron hook. If one performs twenty-one recitations and fire offerings, one will accomplish the essence of the meaningful rope. If one performs one hundred and eight recitations and fire offerings, one will accomplish the general collection of all the Tathagata families, namely the Tathagata family, the Jewel family, the Lotus family, and the Vajra family.
