For those of little merit and virtue, those who are slandered, those whose minds are declining, and those who have fallen from the path of sentient beings, this dharani is placed in Jambudvipa for their benefit. Lord of the gods, hold this dharani and proclaim it to the extremely steadfast son of the gods. After proclaiming it, use this dharani for dispelling demons, for recitation, for contemplation, for meditation, for remembrance, for offering, for holding, and for complete enlightenment. In this way, for the benefit, welfare, and happiness of the sons of the gods residing in all the heavens, and of the sentient beings of Jambudvipa, these mudras and secret mantras of the dharani are entrusted to you. Therefore, Lord of the gods, you should hold it. Lord of the gods, upon hearing this dharani, the karmic obscurations accumulated over hundreds of thousands of kalpas will be completely purified. Know that one will not be reborn in various kinds of beings such as hells, the animal realm, the world of Yama, the realm of pretas, the class of asuras, such as yakshas, rakshasas, spirits, flesh-eaters, corpses, body-corpses, forgetters, dogs, turtles, snakes, fierce beasts, birds, mosquitoes, bees, scorpions, centipedes, and so on. Unless one encounters the Tathagata, or is born into the family of a Bodhisattva. Like a great sala tree of the Brahmin caste, like a great sala tree of the Kshatriya caste, like a great sala tree of the merchant caste, thus I say. Lord of the gods, in this way, by the power of this dharani, one will obtain a completely pure and excellent rebirth up to the heartwood of the Bodhi tree. Lord of the gods, this dharani is so powerful. Lord of the gods, this dharani is so powerful, beneficial, mighty, virtuous, and auspicious. Lord of the gods, for the benefit of sentient beings, the dharani called "Victorious Banner of the Crown" is placed, which completely purifies all the lower realms. For example, like a jewel, a mani jewel, the heartwood of the sun, extremely pure.
