Having paid homage to them, may this vidya-mantra accomplish its meaning! May these vidya-mantras be accomplished! For what reason, since its meaning has been accomplished, may that meaning also be accomplished! Thus I have heard, at one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, in the Garden of Anathapindika. At that time, the lord of the Saha world, Brahma, together with the gods of the Brahma host, and the lord of the gods, Indra Shakra, together with the gods of the Thirty-Three, and the Four Great Kings, together with the gods of the Four Great Kings' host, and the twenty-eight great Yaksha commanders, and the Hariti (奪命母) with her children, retinue, and attendants, went to where the Blessed One was, bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, and remained on one side.
