Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Rajagriha, in the Bamboo Grove, the Kalandaka place. With a great Sangha of five hundred fully ordained monks, and twelve hundred Bodhisattvas, all of whom had obtained dharanis, saw unattached wisdom, whose field of activity was unattached, skilled in means, with equanimity towards all three realms, engaged in the heightened intention of benefit and compassion, only asking about the Tathagata's Dharma teachings. Namely: Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Constant Exertion, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Abiding in Equality, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Immovable, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Good Wisdom, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Great Wisdom, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Limitless Eloquence, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Overpowering Wisdom, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteshvara, and so forth, twelve hundred Bodhisattvas, and Indra, Brahma, the protectors of the world, the Naga kings, all the lords of the Rakshasas, three hundred Yaksha women, other non-Buddhist practitioners, wanderers, six thousand naked ascetics, and seven Garuda kings were dwelling together. All of them circumambulated the Tathagata, and in order to perform the act of offering to the Tathagata, they manifestly rained down a rain of divine flowers. They also manifestly rained down a rain of sandalwood powder. Divine cymbals and clappers were also for the purpose of performing the act of offering to the Tathagata.

It was proclaimed. All those who have great faith in the teachings of the Tathagata, all of them said these words: "Blessed One, well done, well done! Blessed One, the teachings of the Tathagata that bring all afflictions to an end, this is a great miracle, well done, well done!". Then, at that time, the Blessed One entered into the samadhi called "Subduing all afflictions, banner of stainlessness", and by the power of that samadhi, this great earth was made high and low. It shook violently, shook everywhere violently, trembled, trembled everywhere, swayed, swayed everywhere, stirred, stirred everywhere, roared, roared violently, roared everywhere violently, flashed, flashed violently, flashed everywhere violently. A rain of celestial sandalwood powder also fell. A rain of celestial flowers also fell. A light of celestial light also appeared. Then all of them saw that great miracle and were amazed, thinking: These places have appeared, this great miracle has appeared, the great earth has shaken, and a great rain of flowers has fallen, whose power is this? Whose blessing is this? They were silent for a moment, and then they said to each other in their hearts: This is the power of the Tathagata! This is the transformation of the Tathagata! So they spoke. Then the four great kings thought: We must go to where the Blessed One is, in order to see the Tathagata, to pay homage, to make offerings, and to listen to the Dharma.
