Arya Stainless Light Perfectly Pure Light Dharani. Arya Stainless Light Perfectly Pure Light Dharani. In Sanskrit: Arya Rasmi Vimala Vishuddhe Prabha Nama Dharani. In Tibetan: Arya Stainless Light Perfectly Pure Light Dharani. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in the great city of Kapilavastu, in the great courtyard of the palace, together with a great Sangha of monks and a vast multitude of Bodhisattvas, great beings. Among them were the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas Sarvanivaranaviskambhin, Vajrapani, Arya Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Wisdom Light, Maitreya, and countless other Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, as well as gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, non-humans, and countless others, who showed reverence, respect, and honor to the Blessed One, circumambulating him while he taught the Dharma. At that time, in the city of Kapilavastu, there lived a great Brahmin named Kapilavastu Chandra, who did not trust the teachings of the Blessed One and held wrong views. One day, he had a dream in which someone told him, "Brahmin, you will die in seven days." Hearing this, the Brahmin was very unhappy and frightened, thinking, "To whom should I seek refuge for my life now? I have heard that the Shramana Gautama is an omniscient being with miraculous powers. I should go to him, and even if he is omniscient, he will surely teach the Dharma to save me, who am suffering from fear." So he went to where the Blessed One was. Seeing the Blessed One from afar, dwelling with a large retinue, he hesitated to ask the Blessed One, thinking in his heart. At that time, the Blessed One, the perfectly enlightened Buddha,

The one who knows the three times, the one who sees all, without any obscurations, knowing the Brahmin's thoughts, with a compassionate heart, thought with love and said: "Great Brahmin, you will die in seven days and will be reborn in the evil realms and evil paths, in the hell of uninterrupted suffering. Then, gradually, you will be reborn through sixteen great hells. After being liberated from that, you will be reborn in the body of a butcher of a bad lineage. After dying from that, you will be reborn in the body of a pig, constantly eating filthy and impure things, and dwelling for a long time in the mud, constantly experiencing suffering. Then, if you obtain a human body, you will be extremely poor, unclean, foul-smelling, ugly and black in appearance, thin and weak in body, and afflicted with leprosy. You will be disliked by all people, constantly distressed by hunger, despised by all people, constantly beaten and abused, and extremely miserable." Having heard these words, the Brahmin was extremely frightened and terrified. With a grieving heart, he bowed his head to the feet of the Bhagavan and prayed: "Bhagavan, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas are the protectors and saviors of all sentient beings. I have accumulated all kinds of sinful deeds. From now on, if I act according to the Bhagavan's teachings, please protect me from the suffering of falling into the evil realms and evil paths, and being born in hell." After praying in this way, the Bhagavan said: "Great Brahmin, go to the crossroads on the road to Kapilavastu (གྲོང་ཁྱེར་སེར་སྐྱའི་), where there is an old, dilapidated stupa containing relics. Rebuild it, erect a life-tree at the top of the stupa, place the secret mantra written in letters inside it, make offerings, and recite the secret mantra seven times. Then your life will be prolonged and extended. After death, you will be reborn in the happy realms of the heavens, in places of great enjoyment. For hundreds of thousands of kalpas, your enjoyment of happiness will increase and expand. Then, you will be reborn in the pure land of the Tathagata Akshobhya Buddha."

Thus, one will experience great bliss for hundreds of thousands of kalpas. Then, after death, one will be reborn in the abode of the Four Great Kings. There too, one will experience inexhaustible enjoyment of bliss for thousands of hundreds of great kalpas. Wherever one is born in successive lives, one's mind will be subdued, there will be no obstacles to life, all karmic obscurations will be exhausted, and one will never fall into hell. One will always meet with the Buddhas who have attained perfect and complete enlightenment, and they will remember one. Furthermore, great Brahmin, if any bhikshu, bhikshuni, upasaka, upasika, son or daughter of good family is short-lived or has many illnesses, then he/she should repair an old stupa, or build a new one, write this mantra and place it inside, and clean the mandala and make offerings. The benefits of this are that even if life is exhausted, life will be prolonged and extended, and those who are afflicted and suffering from illness will be liberated from all illnesses. One will never be reborn in evil destinies, evil realms, hell, the animal realm, or the world of Yama, the Lord of Death; one will not even hear the sound of these, let alone be born there. Then, that Brahmin, having heard these words, was very pleased, and thinking to repair the dilapidated stupa, he rose from his seat and left. At that time, in that same assembly, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Sarvanivaranaviskambhin rose from his seat, folded his palms, and said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, if this mantra ritual is performed in what manner, will it generate merit, goodness, and roots of virtue? The Blessed One replied: This great mantra called the Great Sovereign, Immaculate, and Utterly Pure Light, if performed according to the ritual of the great mandala, then all the Tathagatas will bless it, so that all sentient beings will attain benefit and happiness. If someone hears this mantra, even the sins of having committed the five inexpiable crimes will be completely purified. Stinginess, greed, and jealousy.
