Having exhausted their lifespan, they are born again. The Bodhisattva Kyabdro said: Venerable Ananda, there are nine untimely deaths. Have you not heard this from the Tathagata? Therefore, the combinations of mantras and medicines are taught. When sentient beings are afflicted by illness, even if the illness is not severe, they may not have access to medicine and treatment, or there may be incompetent doctors practicing medicine. This is the first untimely death. The second untimely death is when some die due to the king's punishment. The third untimely death is when some are very careless and live in negligence, and their vitality is taken away by non-human beings. The fourth untimely death is when some are burned to death by fire. The fifth untimely death is when some die by drowning. The sixth untimely death is when some fall into the midst of lions, tigers, foxes, snakes, and ferocious beasts and die. The seventh untimely death is when some fall from cliffs. The eighth untimely death is when some are killed by poison, curses, and the concoctions of corpses. The ninth untimely death is when some die from starvation and thirst because they cannot find food and drink. In short, these are the major untimely deaths taught by the Tathagata. Furthermore, there are countless untimely deaths. Then, in that assembly, twelve great Yaksha commanders gathered, namely the great Yaksha commander Jiji, the great Yaksha commander Vajra, the great Yaksha commander Jewel Holder, the great Yaksha commander Star Holder, the great Yaksha commander Wind, the great Yaksha commander Place Possessor, the great Yaksha commander Authority Holder, the great Yaksha commander Drink Holder, the great Yaksha commander Speech Holder, the great Yaksha commander Thought Holder, the great Yaksha commander Movement Holder, and the great Yaksha commander Completion Maker. These Yaksha commanders

Those are the twelve great Yaksha generals. Each great Yaksha general has seven hundred thousand Yakshas as subordinates. Together, they reported to the Blessed One, saying: 'Through the power of the Buddha, we have heard the name of the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Medicine Master Bhaisajyaguru, and we will no longer have the fear of falling into evil destinies. Therefore, we will unite together, and for as long as we live, we will take refuge in the Buddha! We will take refuge in the Dharma! We will take refuge in the Sangha! For the benefit, happiness, and health of all sentient beings, we will do our best. In particular, in whatever village, city, town, or monastery where this sutra is practiced, and where sentient beings uphold, make offerings, and pay homage to the name of the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Medicine Master Bhaisajyaguru, we will protect them, completely guard them, liberate them from all harm, and fulfill all their wishes.' Then, the Blessed One said to those great Yaksha generals: 'Well done!' Great Yaksha generals, it is excellent, excellent that you have made the effort to repay and remember the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Medicine Master Bhaisajyaguru, and have entered into benefiting all sentient beings!' Then, the venerable Ananda rose from his seat, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and, with palms joined, bowed towards the Blessed One and said: 'Blessed One, what is the name of this Dharma discourse? How should we uphold it?' The Blessed One replied: 'Ananda, therefore, this Dharma discourse can also be called "The Extensive Exposition of the Special Qualities of the Past Aspirations of the Tathagata Medicine Master Bhaisajyaguru." It can also be called "The Vow Made by the Bodhisattva Vajrapani." It can also be called "That Which Completely Purifies All Karmic Obscurations and Fulfills All Hopes." It can also be called "The Yaksha Generals."
