That explanation which is given in a way that does not contradict those who, having heard the vajra words, slander them, is said to be an explanation in a general sense. The Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas asked: "Bhagavan, what is the ultimate explanation of the Dharma of practicing with desire?" Then, the Bhagavan said: "Bodhisattvas, well done! Well done! Listen, you great Bodhisattvas who possess supreme compassion! The limit is the edge. The state of clear light and correctness is called the ultimate." The Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas asked: "Bhagavan, by what means is the ultimate attained?" The Bhagavan said: "The limits of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, etc., are the three emptinesses. The limit of the three emptinesses is clear light." The great Bodhisattvas asked: "Bhagavan, how do the three emptinesses transform into the limit of clear light?" The Bhagavan said: "Just as fire burns wood and turns it to ashes, so too, the wisdom of clear light purifies for a long time. Just as a palm leaf is turned to ashes, so too, the wisdom of skillful means purifies. Just as a cotton petal is burned, so too, the wisdom of attaining appearance purifies with supreme speed. Therefore, in this order, just as wood, palm leaves, and cotton petals turn to ashes, so too, emptiness, great emptiness, and the great emptinesses will ultimately transform into clear light. This is said to be the ultimate explanation." Maitreya asked: "Bhagavan, in the Yoga Tantra, how are all the limits of the Tathagatas explained in six ways?" The Bhagavan said: "Explained by intention, explained not by intention, provisional meaning, definitive meaning, according to the literal meaning, and not according to the literal meaning." Maitreya asked: "Bhagavan, please bestow your compassionate attention and explain each word." The Bhagavan said: "Whatever is explained as ultimate is explained by intention, for example: not desire, not being separated from desire, and not closely approaching the middle.

The Vajra words such as "object of focus" are explained with intention. Vajra words such as body, speech, mindlessness, selflessness, all emptiness, purity, and luminosity are explained without intention. Vajra words such as camphor, great blood, red sandalwood, vajra, lotus, and mudra are of straightforward meaning. Camphor is semen, great blood is menstrual blood, and red sandalwood mixed with semen is red sandalwood. Vajra is a symbol, a method. Lotus is bhaga (梵文天城体:भग,梵文罗马拟音:bhaga,汉语字面意思:女阴), wisdom. Vajra words such as mudra and consort are of definitive meaning. In both Kriya and Carya Tantras, the meaning is clearly stated, such as mandala, offering, bali, medicine, pacification, and other activities. Similarly, the eight great worldly siddhis are literal. This is the explanation of the literal meaning. Kotrakhya, Kotrava, Kotrah, Kotravashca, Kotriraka, Kolakhya, Kolava, Kola, Kolavashca, Kolastata. This refers to the senses and objects. Such Vajra words are explained non-literally. Bodhisattva Mahasattvas asked: Bhagavan, what are the extents of the Maha Yoga Tantra, Ubhaya Tantra, Carya Tantra, Kriya Tantra, and Vikalpa Tantra? The Bhagavan replied: The Maha Yoga Tantra has twelve thousand names. If explained in detail, it is countless. The Ubhaya Tantra has six thousand. The Carya Tantra has eight thousand. The Kriya Tantra has four thousand. The Vikalpa Tantra has four thousand. These total thirty-four thousand. How many final letters are there in the names of the Tantras and Vikalpas? They are ka kha ga gha nga (梵文天城体:क ख ग घ ङ,梵文罗马拟音:ka kha ga gha ṅa,汉语字面意思:ka kha ga gha nga), ca cha ja jha ña (梵文天城体:च छ ज झ ञ,梵文罗马拟音:ca cha ja jha ña,汉语字面意思:ca cha ja jha ña), ṭa ṭha ḍa ḍha ṇa (梵文天城体:ट ठ ड ढ ण,梵文罗马拟音:ṭa ṭha ḍa ḍha ṇa,汉语字面意思:ṭa ṭha ḍa ḍha ṇa), ta tha da dha na (梵文天城体:त थ द ध न,梵文罗马拟音:ta tha da dha na,汉语字面意思:ta tha da dha na), pa pha ba bha ma (梵文天城体:प फ ब भ म,梵文罗马拟音:pa pha ba bha ma,汉语字面意思:pa pha ba bha ma), ya ra la va (梵文天城体:य र ल व,梵文罗马拟音:ya ra la va,汉语字面意思:ya ra la va), śa ṣa sa ha kṣa (梵文天城体:श ष स ह क्ष,梵文罗马拟音:śa ṣa sa ha kṣa,汉语字面意思:sha sha sa ha ksha). These are the final letters of the names. Bodhisattva Mahasattvas asked: Bhagavan, what are the actions and rituals of those?
