It was arranged at the place of perfection, and for the benefit and happiness of all sentient beings, it was perfectly accomplished. The Blessed One said to Ananda and all the numerous retinue, including Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas: "Noble sons, who among you will always remember the kindness of the Buddha, and for the sake of protecting the sacred Dharma, will write this extremely profound Sutra of Great Skillful Means for Repaying Kindness into volumes, read it, and recite it? Who will generate great diligence in the evil age of the future, and protect and uphold this unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment? Who, for the sake of protecting the Dharma, will widely propagate this Sutra and be able to bring benefit and happiness to all sentient beings?" After speaking, at that time, in that very assembly, hundreds of thousands of Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas stood up, adjusted their robes, draped their upper garments over one shoulder, knelt on their right knees, and with palms joined, bowed to the Buddha and said: "Blessed One, we are willing to protect this unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment in the evil age of the future, uphold the sacred Dharma, and bring benefit to many sentient beings." Then, the Bodhisattva Lion said: "Blessed One, I am also willing to gather sentient beings by various means." The Bodhisattva Vajra said: "Those sentient beings who are about to fall into the three lower realms, I am willing to do everything possible to prevent them from falling." 我等乐意给予安乐。菩萨月光请示道：世尊，我乐意劝勉众生行作福业。菩萨沙门请示道：世尊，我乐意劝勉众生莫安住于一切放逸。菩萨无尽慧请示道：世尊，我乐意为一切众生开示，见证无尽法界之义。菩萨月光童子请示道：世尊，我乐意为一切众生行作无上安乐。如是诸菩萨各自立誓。 圆满庄严菩提，利益一切众生，忆念安乐与佛恩，为报佛恩之故，从座而起，合掌恭敬，祈请道：请将此佛经交付于我等。当时，具寿阿难请示道：世尊，此经当如何称名？当如何受持？世尊告阿难：此经之名，亦可名为“总集一切善法”，亦可名为“大方便”，亦可名为“圣者之行”，亦可名为“报佛恩”。世尊对阿难及诸菩萨摩诃萨如是说道：汝等当如所说，精勤修持。此宣说如来教诫之品时，七万二千声闻，皆发起了无上菩提心。此外，天、龙、夜叉、乾闼婆、人非人等，所有一切皆随喜赞叹佛所说。大方便报佛恩经中，名为“亲近品”之第九品。大方便报佛恩经圆满。 第九，亲近。

I am pleased to bestow happiness upon all. The Bodhisattva Moonlight requested: "World Honored One, I am pleased to encourage sentient beings to engage in meritorious deeds." The Bodhisattva Ascetic requested: "World Honored One, I am pleased to urge sentient beings not to dwell in all negligence." The Bodhisattva Inexhaustible Wisdom requested: "World Honored One, I am pleased to show all sentient beings the meaning of witnessing the inexhaustible realm of Dharma." The Bodhisattva Moonlight Youth requested: "World Honored One, I am pleased to bestow supreme happiness upon all sentient beings." Thus, these Bodhisattvas each made their vows. Having fully adorned enlightenment, benefiting all sentient beings, remembering happiness and the kindness of the Buddha, and for the sake of repaying the Buddha's kindness, they arose from their seats, folded their palms respectfully, and prayed: "Please entrust this Buddha Sutra to us." At that time, the venerable Ananda requested: "World Honored One, what should be the name of this Sutra? How should it be upheld?" The World Honored One told Ananda: "The name of this Sutra can also be called 'Gathering All Virtuous Things,' it can also be called 'Great Skillful Means,' it can also be called 'The Conduct of the Holy Ones,' and it can also be called 'Repaying the Buddha's Kindness.'" The World Honored One said to Ananda and all the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas: "You should diligently practice as taught." When this chapter on the Buddha's complete instructions was taught, seventy-two thousand Shravakas generated the mind of unsurpassed enlightenment. Furthermore, all beings such as gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, mahoragas, humans, and non-humans, all rejoiced and praised what the Buddha had said.
