Fulfillment and, disputes and fights are pacified, riots and, civil wars and, thieves and, famines and, diseases disappear, rice and, sugar cane and, cows and, buffaloes are abundant. That king is also righteous, a king endowed with Dharma rules as king according to Dharma. Because he has no son, he desires a son, so he prays to Ghulana (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), the water god and, Kubera (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), Indra and, Brahma, and other various gods, like this: he prays to the guardian deity of Jetavana Vihara and, the forest deity and, the crossroads deity and, the triple crossroads deity and, the Torma-receiving deity and, the co-born deity and, the Dharma-conforming deity and, the deities who always follow. In the world, there is also the saying that sons and daughters are born through prayer. Although there is such a saying, it is not so, for if sons and daughters were born through prayer, then like a Chakravartin king, each one should have a thousand sons. In reality, sons and daughters are born from the assembly of three conditions, what are the three? The two parents arise with desire and unite, the mother is in season and has menstruation, and a Gandharva arrives, from the assembly of these three conditions sons and daughters are born. He is also diligently praying, and in the pleasure garden there is a large pond, in which grows an extraordinarily large lotus flower, which grows larger day by day, but does not open. Then, the guardian of Jetavana Vihara reported to the king. Then the king also commanded: "Guard that lotus well." Later, one day, as the sun rose, the lotus opened, and in the heart of the lotus, there was a boy with a handsome appearance, beautiful and lovely to behold, with a good complexion, golden in color, with a head like an umbrella. Long arms, a broad forehead, a high nose, a beautiful nose, thick eyebrows, a body well adorned with the thirty-two major marks of a great being, beautified by the eighty minor marks, sitting in full lotus posture. From his mouth emanates the fragrance of lotus, and from his body emanates the fragrance of sandalwood.

Oṃ. Then, the guardian of the pleasure garden also reported to the king. Then, the king, together with his ministers and queen, went to the nursery. As soon as the boy saw the king, he said to the king: "Father, please come here, I am your son, the son of one who has no son." Then, the king, pleased, satisfied, and delighted, said: "Son, it is as you say." Then, the king entered the pond and took the boy from the heart of the lotus and placed him in his hand. Then, wherever that boy placed his feet, lotuses appeared. Then, he was named Chandana. When the boy Chandana grew up a little, the people of the city reported to the king: "O God, if there is a festival in our city, it is appropriate to send Prince Chandana. However, he will enjoy the festival with us, and all places will be decorated with lotuses." The king said: "Let it be so." Then, Chandana, adorned with all kinds of ornaments, together with the sons of the ministers and attendants, making various kinds of musical sounds, came out of the king's palace to enjoy the city's festival. Then, as he walked there, with each step, beautiful and captivating lotuses appeared. But as soon as the sun's rays touched them, they withered and dried up. Then, those sentient beings who were pure, virtuous, and had previously planted roots of virtue in the Buddha, seeing this, gave rise to proper attention: "Just as these lotuses are beautiful when they first grow, but when scorched by the sun's rays, they wither and dry up, so too is this body!" As he thought, measured, and closely contemplated in this way, the thirty-seven dharmas in harmony with the path to enlightenment manifested, and while sitting in the midst of the crowd, he directly realized the enlightenment of a solitary buddha. Then, after a while, the gods of the Pure Abode realms offered him colored clothes, and he divided those clothes, ascended into the sky, and performed various miracles. Seeing this, the king, ministers, and the people of the town, and so on.
