If a crow makes a sound, say, "Why do you make such a sound?" Then again, in another place, a snake sees them and asks for my news as before. When she is in her parents' house, she wants her husband's house; when she is in her husband's house, she wants her parents' house, why is this?" Having said that, they left there and went to the king, and they bowed their heads at the king's feet and sat to one side. Then the king asked them, "Why have you come?" 请允许我陈述三十二条罪状。有人问棍棒者，水的深度如何？答：割掉你的舌头！木匠说：一则我丢了斧子，二则我的牙齿被打掉，棍棒者胜出也罢。卖酒妇人说：棍棒者杀了我的儿子。棍棒者说：我因疲劳去讨酒喝，没看清垫子就坐下了，没察觉下面有儿子，儿子死了。国王说：卖酒妇人，你把儿子裹在襁褓里，用衣服遮盖，这是你的过错。棍棒者，你没仔细看就坐下，这是你的过错。棍棒者，你娶她为妻，让她有儿子吧。卖酒妇人说：一则我的儿子被杀，二则让我嫁给他，棍棒者胜出也罢。织匠的妻子说：棍棒者杀了我的丈夫。棍棒者说：我因敌人众多而害怕，从墙上跳下来逃跑，没看见墙角有人，他死了。国王说：去，让他做你的丈夫吧。她说：一则我的丈夫被杀，二则让我嫁给他，棍棒者胜出也罢。他们各自断绝了关系，棍棒者交出土地，从所有罪责中解脱。那位国王，又有两个女人为一个孩子争吵，国王以聪明的智慧进行调查，对两个女人这样宣告：你们两个抓住孩子的一只手，拉，谁得到孩子就带走。不是孩子母亲的那个人，因为不爱孩子，不担心弄疼他，用尽全力拉。是孩子母亲的那个人，因为爱孩子，担心弄疼他，即使有力量也舍不得用力拉。国王也调查后说：用力拉的那个人，这不是你的孩子，是另一个女人的孩子，如实说来。慢慢拉的那个人是孩子的母亲，于是带走了孩子。之后又有两个人为一块布争吵，来到国王面前，国王调查后，像之前的判决一样判决了。之后棍棒者对国王说：

The carpenter said, "Firstly, I lost my axe, secondly, my teeth were knocked out, let the club-bearer win." The wine-selling woman said, "The club-bearer killed my son." The club-bearer said, "I went to ask for wine because I was tired. I sat down without looking at the cushion, and without realizing there was a son underneath, the son died." The king said, "Wine-selling woman, you wrapped your son in swaddling clothes and covered him with clothes, that is your fault. Club-bearer, you sat down without looking carefully, that is your fault. Club-bearer, marry her and let her have a son." The wine-selling woman said, "Firstly, my son was killed, secondly, let me marry him, let the club-bearer win." The weaver's wife said, "The club-bearer killed my husband." The club-bearer said, "I was afraid because I had many enemies, I jumped down from the wall to escape, I didn't see someone at the corner of the wall, he died."
