犹如鲜花雨，对于愤怒、虚假和恶语相向的人，凡是具备智慧的贤者，都能全部忍受。即使举起石头也不会被抓住，即使下雨也不会被摧毁。同样，快乐和痛苦也无法使贤者沮丧。如果有人以真理责备，贤者会对此忍耐。对于非真理也要忍耐，除此之外没有其他的教导。因此，贤明的人为了财富，应该忍受痛苦，并使其成为习惯。如果不能忍受，彻底摆脱悲伤，前往他处，就像获得千金一样。不要抓住脆弱的树枝，不要对无欲的心产生贪恋。因为世间充满了美好和丑陋，广阔的世界终将走向消亡。如果有人轻蔑你，不尊敬你，诋毁你，不赞扬你，与贤者和愚者交往没有太大的意义，像哑巴一样不说话，才是明智之举。如果有人喜欢争斗，心怀欺骗，总是寻找机会，说闲话、挑拨离间、说谎、说粗暴的话，这时贤者应该迅速前往其他地方。如果人们为了生存，喜欢互相伤害，身语意没有约束，这时贤者应该迅速前往其他地方。如果人们心怀嫉妒，总是无法忍受别人的成就，以憎恨之心蒙蔽自己，伪装自己，这时我希望前往其他地方。如果人们渴望作恶，渴望受到尊敬，伪装自己，进行欺骗，内心不纯洁，外表也不纯洁，这时我希望前往其他地方。如果人们没有礼貌，没有高尚的品德，傲慢自大，孩子总是轻蔑贤者，这时我希望前往其他地方。无论在哪里能获得食物和饮料，无论在哪里能获得衣服，无论在哪里能生存，就去那里，不要停留在产生贪恋的地方。放弃那些经常引起争论的欲望，放弃那些总是傲慢、没有供养、自以为是的东西，放弃那些带来恶果的愤怒，放弃那些贫困时就不理睬你的朋友，远离那条如同充满火焰的道路。

Like a rain of flowers, a wise and intelligent person endures all anger, falsehood, and harsh words. Even if stones are raised, they cannot be grasped; even if rain falls, it cannot be destroyed. Similarly, happiness and suffering do not cause the wise to deteriorate. If someone rebukes with truth, the wise endure it. One must also endure what is not true; there is no other teaching than this. Therefore, a wise person, for the sake of wealth, should endure suffering and make it a habit. If one cannot endure and completely abandons sorrow, going elsewhere is like gaining a thousand gold coins. Do not grasp at fragile branches, and do not become attached to a mind free from desire. Because the earth is filled with good and bad, the vast world will eventually come to an end. Where there is contempt and no respect, where there is slander and no praise, associating with the wise and foolish is not very meaningful; it is wise to go like a mute who does not speak. If someone delights in fighting, is full of deceitful thoughts, and always seeks opportunities, gossiping, sowing discord, lying, and speaking harsh words, then the wise should quickly go to another place. If people live by harming each other, delighting in inflicting harm, and have no restraint in body, speech, and mind, then the wise should quickly go to another place. If people are jealous, always unable to bear the success of others, and are deluded by hateful thoughts, feigning virtue, then I wish to go to another place. If people desire to do evil, desire respect, and practice hypocrisy and deceit, being impure inside and impure outside, then I wish to go to another place. If people are without respect, without noble conduct, arrogant and proud, and children always despise the wise, then I wish to go to another place. Wherever food and drink can be obtained, wherever clothes can be found, and wherever one can live, go there, and do not stay in a place that generates attachment. Abandon whatever desires frequently cause disputes, abandon whatever is always arrogant, without offerings, and self-righteous, abandon the anger that brings bad consequences, and abandon friends who ignore you in times of poverty, stay away from the path like a road filled with fire.

弃舍懒惰！弃舍无有恩惠如亲友般的贪欲！弃舍獠牙可怖如龙般的执着！弃舍如持兵器之敌般的痛苦！弃舍如龙女般可怖的妻子！舍弃如头上燃火般的儿子们！舍弃如附带传染病般的家！舍弃如剧毒饮料般的欲望！为了家庭，舍弃一个；为了城市，舍弃家园；为了国土，舍弃城市；为了自己，舍弃土地；为了人的肢体，舍弃财物；为了生命，舍弃肢体。财物和肢体，以及生命，一切都舍弃，在此守护佛法。修习佛法，便无所畏惧。修习佛法者，不会堕入恶道。修习佛法者，会前往欲界。不修习佛法者，死后会受苦。智者获得财富不会欢喜，财富耗尽，智慧也不会衰退。世间一切，随意取用，众生之中，人是精华。若人欢喜布施财物于他人，远离傲慢和伤害，安住于真理，如海洋般心胸宽广者，是英雄，是勇敢者，是贤良者，是具有方便者。若人从彼等处学习，于一切事皆得精通，与彼等交往则得安乐，此等为圣者所赞叹。近鼓说道：鼓啊，我一次又一次地，如此对您深信不疑。我的身体干枯，或者心已不在，也容易。纵然堕入极难忍受的痛苦中，以后也不会再造罪业。戒律败坏的活着，不如持戒而死更容易。为了这一生，要如何才能无尽地修行呢？世尊开示说：过去世在何处安住，在那里出生时，与不善之友交往，做了我的不善之业。与善知识相遇时，便舍弃了不善之业。世尊如来，以神通了知过去世的住处，因此为比丘们，能仁也作了授记。过去世我曾为鼓，阿难是近鼓，提婆达多是鼓

Abandon laziness! Abandon desire like a friend without kindness! Abandon attachment like a terrible dragon with fangs! Abandon suffering like an enemy holding weapons! Abandon an unbearable wife like a dragon woman! Abandon sons like fire burning on the head! Abandon homes like contagious diseases! Abandon desires like a deadly poison! For the sake of family, abandon one; for the sake of the city, abandon the home; for the sake of the country, abandon the city; for the sake of oneself, abandon the land; for the sake of human limbs, abandon wealth; for the sake of life, abandon limbs. Wealth and limbs, and likewise life, abandon everything, here protect the Dharma. Practicing the Dharma, there is no fear. Those who practice the Dharma will not go to bad destinies. Those who practice the Dharma will go to the realm of desire. Those who do not practice the Dharma will suffer after death. The wise do not rejoice in gaining wealth, and even if wealth is exhausted, their wisdom does not diminish. In this world, whatever is desired is easily obtained, and among sentient beings, humans are the essence. Whoever joyfully gives wealth to others, abandoning pride and harm, and abides in truth, those with minds like the ocean are heroes, brave, virtuous, and skillful. Whoever learns well from them and becomes skilled in all matters, and finds happiness in associating with them, these are praised by the holy ones as good. Near-Drum said: Drum, again and again to you, I have great faith in this way. Whether my body withers or my mind is gone, it is easy. Even if I fall into unbearable suffering, I will not commit sins hereafter. Living with broken vows is worse than dying with vows. For this one life, how can I practice endlessly? The Blessed One said: In the past, wherever I dwelt and was born, associating with unwholesome friends, I did my unwholesome deeds. When I met virtuous friends, I abandoned unwholesome deeds. The Blessed Thus-Gone One, knowing the past abodes through clairvoyance, therefore, for the monks, the Able One also prophesied.
