耗尽是安乐。傲慢虚伪我慢大，依仗罪恶之友伴，与强有力者作对抗，那些人等的名声毁。因此不要太傲慢，愤怒应当彻底断。傲慢与愤怒若生起，所有名声皆毁灭。若有年老与孩童，病人弱小失计谋，同样卑贱与被国王舍弃及无依怙者，若无慈悲心肠彼非人。舍弃自己家园居处后，前往他人之境域时，对于各种恶语相向，必须行持大忍耐。胜于自己家园受凌辱，人们宁愿居住他乡域。何处人们不被他人辱，是自己家园即自己人。 श्रेष्ठ之人若受凌辱时，舍弃爱妻与广大受用。恶劣之人于彼亦流浪，受凌辱者亦如饮水。获得兴盛是喜悦，衰败众多之故也。众生若成卑劣时，沉默不语得安乐。倘若无财眷属少，或友伴一方势力小，敌方势力若强大时，沉默不语得安乐。人们若作非正法，且对欲乐极欢喜，信心小且无惭愧时，沉默不语得安乐。人们若生起愤怒，且成众多损害心，对他者亦具残暴行，沉默不语得安乐。人们若无有信心，如乌鸦般饶舌语，行持欺骗与狡诈时，沉默不语得安乐。人们若戒律毁坏者，粗暴且作谄媚行，不具真实之正法时，沉默不语得安乐。人们若秉性恶劣者，且被邪见所摧毁，粗暴且成嗔恨者时，沉默不语得安乐。无惭且说虚妄语，无义离间语粗语，说离间与杂乱语时，沉默不语得安乐。贤善无德极傲慢，以我慢而自高举，嫉妒贪婪且失威仪时，沉默不语得安乐。
English
Exhaustion is happiness. Arrogance and pretense, great pride, Relying on sinful friends, And opposing the powerful, The fame of those people is destroyed. Therefore, do not be too arrogant, Anger should be completely abandoned. If arrogance and anger arise, All fame will be destroyed. If there are the old and children, The sick, the weak, the lost, Likewise the lowly, and those abandoned by the king and without protection, Those without compassion are not human. Having abandoned one's own homeland and dwelling, When going to another's realm, For various harsh words, Great patience must be practiced. Rather than being humiliated in one's own land, People would rather live in another's realm. Where people are not humiliated by others, That is one's own land, that is one's own people. When superior people are humiliated, They abandon their beloved wives and vast enjoyments. Evil people also wander there, Those who are humiliated also drink it like water. Gaining prosperity is joyful, Because there is much decline. When sentient beings become inferior, Remaining silent brings happiness. If one has no wealth and few relatives, Or the power of one's friends is small, When the enemy's power is strong, Remaining silent brings happiness. When people act against the Dharma, And are extremely happy with sensual pleasures, When faith is small and there is no shame, Remaining silent brings happiness. When people become angry, And have many harmful thoughts, And also have cruel behavior towards others, Remaining silent brings happiness. When people have no faith, And speak garrulously like crows, When they practice deception and cunning, Remaining silent brings happiness. When people are of broken morality, Are rude and act flatteringly, When they do not possess the true Dharma, Remaining silent brings happiness. When people are of bad character, And are destroyed by wrong views, When they are rude and become hateful, Remaining silent brings happiness. Shameless and speaking falsely, Meaningless slander, harsh words, When speaking divisive and confused words, Remaining silent brings happiness. Virtuous, without virtue, extremely arrogant, Haughty with pride, When jealous, greedy, and lacking dignity, Remaining silent brings happiness.

当不知晓人们的种姓和血统时，与这些人一起相处时，那时不应该傲慢。居住在别人的国家，靠别人的生活为生时，为了国家和安乐的缘故，应该忍受别人的轻蔑。居住在别人的国家，靠别人的生活为生时，如果因憎恨而争吵，应该忍受别人的轻蔑。 居住在别人的国家，靠别人的生活为生时，即使被卑贱者驱逐，有智慧的人也应该忍受。唉，我居住在异国他乡，遇到了恶友，与孩子们交往的地方，没有坏人可以依靠。有智慧的人这样思考后，即使与不了解的人交往，智者为了财富和享受，也不要仅仅因为偏袒而发怒。正如被灰烬覆盖的火，被草和树木遮盖，如果被风吹动，就会非常猛烈地燃烧起来，烧毁那些草和树木，蔓延开来，以巨大的火焰，像烧毁许多草和灌木一样，烧毁大树。同样，从分别念的柴薪中，产生的愤怒如火，会给自己和他人带来巨大的灾难。因此，当愤怒产生时，通过修习作为嗔恨对治的慈爱之心，智者们应该制止它。如果赞扬就亲近，不赞扬就不亲近，完全抛弃适度，这是孩童的特征。如果这里有孩子，像翅膀被剪掉的鸟一样，如果失去智慧，不放纵聪明，智者将如何生存？因为大多数孩子都丧失了智慧和知识，因此，有智慧的智者，尤其能安乐地生活。智者不会因获得财富而高兴，也不会因贫困而迷惑或动摇。为了随顺而说有益的话，别人怎么会不认为他是善说者呢？智者不偏不倚，很好地听取这些道理后，这样反复思考，就能很好地成办自己的利益和他人的利益。智者们仅仅为了生活的缘故，不会造作罪恶的业。

When one does not know the castes and lineages of people, when living together with such people, one should not be arrogant at that time. When living in another's country, and living by another's livelihood, for the sake of the country and happiness, one should endure the contempt of others. When living in another's country, and living by another's livelihood, if one quarrels out of hatred, one should endure the contempt of others. When living in another's country, and living by another's livelihood, even if one is expelled by the lowly, the wise should endure it. Alas, I dwell in a foreign land, having met bad friends, in a place where one associates with children, there is no bad person to rely on. Having thought thus, the wise, even if associating with those who do not understand, the wise should not be angry merely out of partiality, for the sake of wealth and enjoyment. Just as a fire covered by ashes, covered by grass and trees, if blown well by the winds, it will burn very fiercely, burning those grass and trees, spreading out, with a great flame, like burning many grasses and shrubs, burning great trees. Similarly, anger like fire, arising from the firewood of conceptual thoughts, will bring great disaster to oneself and others. Therefore, when anger arises, by cultivating the mind of loving-kindness, which is the antidote to hatred, the wise should restrain it. If praised, one becomes friendly, if not praised, one does not become friendly, and completely abandoning moderation, that is the characteristic of a child. If there are children here, like a bird with its wings clipped, if they lose their intelligence and do not indulge in cleverness, how will the wise live? Because most children have abandoned intelligence and knowledge, therefore, the wise and intelligent, especially live in comfort. The wise do not rejoice in gaining wealth, nor are they confused or shaken by poverty. If one speaks beneficial words in order to be followed, how will others not think that he is a good speaker? The wise, being impartial, having listened well to these reasons, having repeatedly thought in this way, can accomplish their own benefit and the benefit of others well. The wise do not create sinful actions merely for the sake of livelihood.
