The Dharma Category Called "Meaningful Determination" The Dharma Category Called "Meaningful Determination" In Sanskrit: Artha-vinishchaya-nama-dharma-paryaya. In Tibetan: The Dharma Category Called "Meaningful Determination." Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard: At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Shravasti, in the eastern Jeta Grove, in the mansion of the mother of the mountain holder, together with a great community of monks, twelve hundred and fifty monks. Then, the Blessed One, with a voice of Brahma, deep as a cloud, melodious and vast, addressed the monks: "Monks, I will teach you the Dharma, the Brahmacharya, which is good in the beginning, good in the middle, good in the end, with good meaning, good words, unmixed, completely perfect, completely pure, completely purified, like this, the Dharma category called 'Meaningful Determination,' I will explain it truly and in detail. Listen well and keep it in mind, and I will speak." The monks replied to the Blessed One, "Good, Blessed One." Then, they listened to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said to them, "Monks, what is the Dharma category called 'Meaningful Determination'? It is like this: the five skandhas, the five aggregates of clinging, the eighteen dhatus, the twelve ayatanas, the twelve links of dependent origination, the four noble truths, the twenty-two faculties, the four dhyanas, the four brahmaviharas, the four paths, the four samadhi meditations, the four mindfulnesses, the four right abandonments, the four miraculous feet, the five indriyas, the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the sixteen aspects of mindfulness of breathing in and out, the four limbs of entering the stream, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, the thirty-two major marks of a great being, and the eighty minor marks.
