Also present were twenty-eight billion gods, eighty-six thousand monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen, sixty thousand giants, twelve billion naked ascetics, five hundred great sages endowed with five superknowledges, five forms of austerity, five hundred limbs, with white limbs, without flesh, only skin covering bones, with flat stomachs, carrying burdens of hair, with emaciated bodies, wearing bark and animal skins, holding rosaries in their hands, eighty-four thousand in number, and also those who desired to cross over. Then, the Blessed One, like the king of mountains, Mount Meru, among the black mountains, shone brightly among the sages, brilliantly, luminously. Like the king of elephants with six tusks among the sheep, like the sun and moon near fireflies, like a branch of the Mandara tree among Kasha grass flowers, like the king of Garuda birds surrounded by crows, the Blessed One was twice as beautiful among the sages. Then, the Blessed One entered into the samadhi called 'Giving of Jewels,' and performed immeasurable miraculous displays, emitting rays of light from both his left and right shoulders, from which emerged immeasurable billions of Tathagatas, immeasurable billions of Bodhisattvas, immeasurable Indras, Brahmas, and world protectors, immeasurable hundreds of thousands of Arhats, and monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen.

Countless hundreds of thousands emerged. Wheel-turning kings, powerful wheel-turning kings, kings of realms, and countless mantra holders emerged. Chinese people, rock dwellers, travelers, southerners, and countless forest dwellers emerged. Like great sala trees of royal lineage, brahmins and householders like great sala trees, human forms, appearances, colors, and various languages and sounds, and as many types of gods as there were, all emerged from the body of the Tathagata. Then the great assembly became doubtful and looked at each other's faces. The Bodhisattvas rejoiced greatly and rained down showers of jewels, even showers of all kinds of ornaments. Then, the Bhagavan arose from the samadhi of bestowing jewels and, in the posture of a lion, gazed in all ten directions. As soon as the Bhagavan gazed in the ten directions, from then on, from the Buddhafields of the ten directions, as many Buddhas and Bhagavans as appeared in the eyes of the Buddhas, all of them appeared completely in the Sahā world as if placed in the palm of the hand. All the Tathagatas also manifested such miraculous displays as the Bhagavan Shakyamuni had manifested, and as many emanations as the Tathagatas manifested, all of them went separately to where the Bhagavan was and gathered in the assembly of the Bhagavan. Countless Bodhisattvas, together with monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, brought incomparable great offerings to the Tathagata and came here. Similarly, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, and many non-humans also saw the miraculous displays of the Bhagavan J04,V062,Pན འོག་མ༻ and went to where the Bhagavan was. Then, the Bodhisattvas who came from the ten directions, with supreme offerings, served and revered the Bhagavan, the other shore.

They sat on seats perfectly accomplished by the six perfections. They also sat on seats appropriate to their kind, whether human or non-human. Those emanations that the Blessed One had sent forth appeared as far up as the Peak of Existence and as far down as the Avici hell, and then returned. All the countless emanations sent forth by the Buddhas of the ten directions dissolved into every pore of the Blessed One Shakyamuni. Those emanations that the Blessed One had sent forth dissolved into the bodies of all the Buddhas. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Victorious Aggregate rose from his seat, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and, with palms joined, bowed in the direction of the Blessed One and praised him with these verses: "Alas, O guide of humans, These various deeds never seen before, Quickly shown to all beings, By this, all the hosts of demons are terrified. They speak incoherently to each other, 'Alas, how very wonderful!' they say. Why have we come here? 'We are defeated, we are defeated!' they say. I, the ascetic, am no longer an ascetic, My weak body is only skin and bones, We are weakened, withered, and deprived of pleasure. We have not attained miraculous powers. Without letters, by the three kinds of miracles, You have made the enemies of the teachings terrified. Today, you, the guide of the teachings, Are making a great festival for the Buddha's sons. All these retinues are in doubt, Joy is born and their minds are very happy, We, the hosts of gods, from wherever we are, May we become the protector of the world, the Buddha.
