Now, one imagines women. To those with desire, one imagines with desire. Shariputra, like that, those are the discriminations of evil people. Shariputra, those are the actions of those who are consumed by food and desire, those are not the actions of noble beings. Shariputra, any eunuch who cultivates such discriminations of evil people, experiences the feeling of "I have touched." This body with nine openings, dripping with impurity, generates the perception of purity. All these are not to be done, those are not the actions of noble beings. Shariputra, any renunciant or Brahmin who does not truly know the faults of desire as they are, discriminates against women and clings to the signs of the eye, generating the perception of vaidurya, but does not generate the perception of a water bubble. Shariputra, for example, following a female donkey and a female pig, by following, the body becomes empty, and the flesh of the body becomes impure, filthy, and should not be looked at. Shariputra, the eye should also be spoken of in the same way. For example, like the flesh of a female donkey, a female pig, or a female dog, the eye is also the same. The inside of the eyeball is like a water bubble. Thus, it is impure and discordant, pus and blood flow profusely, and impurity flows profusely. Shariputra, attachment to the body that flows with pus and blood, and flows with the essence of water, that is what is called the eye. Shariputra, for this, by what cause is it called the eye, what is its cause, what is its condition? It is the master of the body, looking at forms, there is no satisfaction in the beginning, middle, and end, and the body commits as many unwholesome deeds as the ocean, therefore it is called the eye. Shariputra, for this, by what cause is it called the eye, what is its cause, what is its condition? Because of discordance. Shariputra, what is the discordance of the eye? Generating the perception of form in the formless, feeling...

Feeling is perceived as feeling, ignorance as ignorance, non-action as non-action, and non-consciousness as consciousness. Furthermore, by what cause is it called the eye? What is its cause? What is its condition? It diminishes the practice of virtue, therefore it is called the eye because of this cause. It diminishes the possessions of a monk, therefore it is called the eye. Shariputra, the eye is impermanent, unstable, and not constant; therefore, know that it is called the eye because of this cause. Shariputra, wise, learned, and fearless monks consider the eye to be neither woman, nor man, nor sentient being, nor life, nor nurture, nor person. Shariputra, similarly, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are neither woman, nor man, nor sentient being, nor life, nor nurture, nor person; these arise from the perversion of the five aggregates. Shariputra, any renunciates or Brahmins who do not truly understand the faults of desires will be tormented by lust, their complexion will be poor, and they will become pale. Shariputra, for example, when the leaves or ripe fruits of a large tree fall off, they turn pale. Shariputra, similarly, any monks, nuns, laymen, or laywomen who do not truly understand the faults of desires will be tormented by lust, their complexion will become poor, their minds will become unclear, and their complexion will be poor and unpleasant to look at. Shariputra, those newly ordained monks who are young and have not been ordained for long truly understand the truth of desires, that desires are without substance. Even if thoughts of desire arise, they quickly pacify them, and they also know that these are unwholesome. Shariputra, therefore, monks should see the faults of desires, thereby becoming disgusted with those desires, separating from lust, and feeling joy.

Thus practicing celibacy, the complexion and immediate radiance will become clear. Shariputra, for example, if a person's body is afflicted with illness and suppuration, then all his limbs have eighty-four thousand wounds. Each wound has eighty-four thousand groups of worms. They have sharp mouths and are on both sides of the mouth. They are not satisfied by eating all the food. They gather in unclean places. When these creatures are scorched by fire, they return and eat. They eat completely. Shariputra, what do you think? Is that person eaten by those creatures? Or not eaten? After saying this, the Venerable Shariputra said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, just hearing this, the hairs on my body stand on end. Not to mention the discomfort of that person. Blessed One, that person is eaten by those kinds of creatures, not not eaten. Those eighty-four thousand creatures make the body itch and cannot be soothed in this way, nor can they obtain happiness. Shariputra, what do you think? Is it right to despise that person whose body is oozing pus and blood and has become like that? Replied: It should be despised. Unpleasant. Not worth watching. The Blessed One said: Shariputra, likewise, wise monks should each learn these correctly. Women are so dirty, so smelly, so unpleasant, so unworthy of being watched. One should not associate with women whose afflictions are blazing. Desires are smelly. Desires are unpleasant. Desires are unclean. Desires are unworthy of being watched. Thus spoke the Blessed One. Shariputra, unlike what is in a man's body, women have five more groups of worms. Shariputra, those five groups of worms reside in the urethra of women. Each group of worms has eighty worms. They have sharp mouths and are on both sides of the mouth.
