will be liberated from one thousand two hundred births and deaths, and sins will be cleansed. Those who hear the name of Maitreya and join their palms will be liberated from fifty kalpas of births and deaths. Whoever reverently prostrates to Maitreya will be liberated from one hundred billion kalpas of births and deaths, and sins will be purified. Not clinging to the heavenly realms, in the future, under the Naga Tree Bodhi Tree, they will also have the opportunity to generate the mind of unsurpassed Bodhi. After speaking thus, countless retinues rose from their seats, bowed their heads to the feet of the Bhagavan, and also bowed to the feet of Maitreya, circumambulating the Bhagavan and Maitreya hundreds of thousands of times. Those who had not yet attained the path made their own vows. We, and so on, the gods, humans, and these eight classes, in the presence of the Bhagavan, with devotion, made the vow that in the future, after abandoning the body, we would see the face of the noble Maitreya, and all would be born in the Tushita Heaven. The Bhagavan said: You and others, in the future, will perform meritorious deeds, keep the precepts, and all will take birth in the presence of the Bodhisattva Maitreya, and the Bodhisattva Maitreya will bless you. The Bhagavan said to Upali: Upali, to view it in this way is called right view. Other views are called wrong views. Then, the venerable Ananda rose from his seat, knelt on his right knee, joined his palms, and said to the Bhagavan: Excellent! Bhagavan! The merits of Maitreya have been well spoken. In the future, we wish to obtain the fruits obtained by sentient beings who perform meritorious deeds. Bhagavan, what is the name of this Dharma discourse? How should we uphold it? The Bhagavan said to Ananda: Ananda, you should remember what the Tathagata has said and not forget it, for the sake of the future, opening the path to be born in the heavenly realms, and the name of Bodhi, and not interrupting the lineage of the Tathagata, the name of this sutra is, Bodhi.

又称慈氏菩萨入灭。慈氏菩萨于兜率天转生后，应受菩提之精要。世尊如是说后，从其他佛土而来的十四俱胝菩萨，获得了以章节庄严的等持。八俱胝天子发起了无上菩提心后，所有人都追随慈氏，发愿转生于赡部洲。世尊如是说后，四众眷属，以及天、龙等八部众，世尊如是说后，所有人都非常欢喜，向世尊顶礼后返回。圣慈氏菩萨于兜率天转生经圆满。校译者为班智达巴瓦同和班智达喜饶僧格从汉文译出。 圣慈氏菩萨于兜率天转生经。

Also known as Bodhisattva Maitreya's passing into Nirvana. After Bodhisattva Maitreya took birth in the Tushita Heaven, he should receive the essence of Bodhi. After the Bhagavan spoke thus, fourteen kotis of Bodhisattvas who came from other Buddha-fields attained the Samadhi adorned with chapters. Eight kotis of sons of gods generated the unsurpassed Bodhicitta, and all followed Maitreya, praying to be reborn in Jambudvipa. After the Bhagavan spoke thus, the fourfold assembly, as well as gods, nagas, and other eight classes, after the Bhagavan spoke thus, all were exceedingly joyful, prostrated to the Bhagavan, and returned. The Sutra of the Holy Bodhisattva Maitreya Taking Birth in the Tushita Heaven is complete.
