《圣梵天所问大乘经》 《圣梵天所问大乘经》 印度语:Arya-braspu-pa-ri-prīcchā-nāma-mahāyāna-sūtra(梵文,天城体:आर्यब्रश्पुपरि पृच्छा नाम महायान सूत्र,梵文罗马拟音:ārya-braśpu-pari-pṛcchā-nāma-mahāyāna-sūtra,汉语字面意思:圣梵天请问大乘经)。

《The Great Vehicle Sutra of the Question of Holy Brahma》 《The Great Vehicle Sutra of the Question of Holy Brahma》 In Indian language: Ārya-braspu-pa-ri-prīcchā-nāma-mahāyāna-sūtra. In Tibetan: The Great Vehicle Sutra of the Question of Holy Brahma. I prostrate to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard: At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in the great grove in the city of Vaishali, in a place of stacked houses, together with a great Sangha of twelve thousand monks, and a great many Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. Then, in the middle watch of the night, when the Blessed One was not sleeping, he sat cross-legged, established mindfulness, and entered the first dhyana, which is with vitarka and vicara, and with joy and bliss born of samadhi. Having arisen from that, the Blessed One entered the second dhyana, which is without vitarka and vicara, and with joy and bliss born of samadhi. Having arisen from that, the Blessed One, free from attachment to joy, abiding in equanimity, endowed with mindfulness, and dwelling in bliss, entered the third dhyana. Having arisen from that, the Blessed One also abandoned pleasure, and having previously abandoned suffering, with the disappearance of both pleasure and displeasure, he entered the fourth dhyana, which is neither suffering nor pleasure, but is purity of equanimity and mindfulness. Then, having arisen from the fourth dhyana, the Blessed One entered the third dhyana. Having arisen from the third dhyana, he entered the second dhyana. Having arisen from the second dhyana, he entered the first dhyana. Having arisen from the first dhyana, he entered the samadhi called "Showing the Body of Form Everywhere to Sentient Beings According to How They Are to Be Tamed." As soon as the Blessed One entered that samadhi called "Showing the Body of Form Everywhere to Sentient Beings According to How They Are to Be Tamed," at that instant, the Blessed One was exceedingly radiant, harmonious, and clear. The Brahma, the lord of the Sahā world, while dwelling in the Brahma palace, saw that the Blessed One was exceedingly radiant, harmonious, and clear, and possessed the thirty-two marks of a great being.

He saw it well adorned with two roots. Having seen it, he disappeared from the world of Brahma, illuminated the great garden full of everything with light, and stayed not too far away in front of the Blessed One. Then, the lord Brahma of the Saha world thought to himself: "The Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are difficult to approach and difficult to understand. If the Blessed One is absorbed in samadhi, it is not my place to request him to rise with the sound of clearing phlegm or just by speaking. I should request the Blessed One to rise with verses." Having decided, the lord Brahma of the Saha world draped his upper garment over one shoulder, and while remaining seated, he bowed his head, folded his palms, and turned towards the Blessed One. He requested the Blessed One to rise with verses: Undefiled, stainless, utterly pure, Gods and supreme humans, gandharvas, Nagas and asuras well worshiped, For the sake of sentient beings, I offer to you, protector. Just as a mountain is utterly unmoving, Just as the ocean's depth is unfathomable, Even all the maras cannot shake you, The capable one, the supreme being, meditates. Without entanglement, without characteristics, Without difference, without permanence, Without location, without appearance, The capable one, the noble being, meditates. Not the realm of reasoners, Nor the realm of childish ones, Utterly beyond mind and mental events, Gone beyond meditation, he meditates. Protector, like a lion, also proclaims, Capable one, like a dragon, greatly proclaims, Hero, like the moon, utterly beautiful, Jewel of sentient beings, I prostrate to you. Then, the Blessed One understood that the lord Brahma of the Saha world had urged him with these verses, and he arose from that very samadhi in which he was sitting in the lotus position. Having arisen, the Blessed One made a sound of clearing his throat in order to encourage the lord Brahma of the Saha world. The lord Brahma of the Saha world, the Blessed One arose from that samadhi, just as he was sitting in the lotus position.
