Adorned with earth, all non-virtuous dharmas are abandoned, and all virtuous dharmas are completely perfected. Adorned with the feet of miraculous power, the body and mind become light. Adorned with the five faculties, faith becomes steadfast, diligence blazes, there is no ignorance, one becomes skilled in making the mind workable, and skilled in abandoning all afflictions. Adorned with strength, all laziness, poverty, and faults are destroyed. Adorned with the limbs of enlightenment, all dharmas are thoroughly understood as they truly are. Adorned with the path, perfect wisdom is accomplished. Adorned with calm abiding, all afflictions are destroyed. Adorned with higher vision, one becomes wisdom and knowledge that thoroughly understands all dharmas as they truly are. Adorned with skillful means, the happiness of conditioned and unconditioned states is attained. Lord of the Nagas, in short, with these paths of the ten virtuous actions, the ten powers are completely perfected. Obtaining the four fearlessnesses, and obtaining the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, up to obtaining all the dharmas of the Buddha, all are completely perfected. Lord of the Nagas, therefore, strive to adorn these paths of the ten virtuous actions with extensive distinctions. Lord of the Nagas, it is like this: for example, the villages, cities, towns, regions, districts, all the retinues of the king's palace that reside on the earth, and the grass, tree thickets, medicines, all the forests, and all the limits of work, and all the collections of seeds, and all the collections of elements, and the places where all crops grow, and where activities such as plowing and digging occur, the basis for those is the earth. Lord of the Nagas, likewise, these paths of the ten virtuous actions are also the basis for being born as gods and humans. Obtaining the fruits of learners and non-learners, and the enlightenment of hearers and solitary realizers, and the basis for all the conduct of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, up to being the basis for all the dharmas of the Buddha. After the Bhagavan spoke thus, the Naga king Ocean and

Those monks, those Bodhisattvas, and the entire retinue, the world with gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced and praised the Blessed One's words. Thus concludes the Mahayana Sutra, "The Noble Sutra Requested by the Dragon King of the Ocean." Translated and revised by the Indian Abbot Jinamitra, Danashila, Munivarma, and the great translator Bande Yeshede, and finalized with new revisions. In Tibetan: "The Noble Sutra Requested by the Dragon King of the Ocean," a Mahayana Sutra. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus I have heard: At one time, the Blessed One was in the abode of the Dragon King of the Ocean, together with a great Sangha of twelve hundred and fifty monks, and a great multitude of Bodhisattvas, great beings. Then, the Blessed One spoke to the Dragon King of the Ocean: "Lord of the Dragons, if these four Dharma teachings are spoken, then it is as if eighty-four thousand collections of Dharma have been spoken. What are the four? They are: All conditioned things are impermanent; Bodhisattvas, great beings, thereby enter into inexhaustible wisdom. All defiled dharmas are suffering; Bodhisattvas, great beings, thereby enter into inexhaustible wisdom. All dharmas are without self; Bodhisattvas, great beings, thereby enter into inexhaustible wisdom. Nirvana is peace; Bodhisattvas, great beings, thereby enter into inexhaustible wisdom. Lord of the Dragons, if these four Dharma teachings are spoken, then it is as if eighty-four thousand collections of Dharma have been spoken." After the Blessed One spoke thus, those monks and Bodhisattvas rejoiced and praised the Blessed One's words. The Noble Dragon King
