One should not kill. Why is that? Because all sentient beings cherish and cherish life. Then, the Blessed One, in the vast ocean, did all the things that needed to be done to benefit sentient beings, and then said to the Naga King Ocean: "Lord of the Nagas, come here! Now pack up your bedding and mats. Now I am going back to my abode." Then, the Blessed One, together with his attendants, arose from his seat, and from within the vast ocean, he emerged again along the jeweled staircase, with great array, great offerings, and the greatness of the Buddha, he walked slowly, singing praises, and stood on the seashore. Then, the goddess of the vast ocean, Radiant Mother, praised the Blessed One with these verses: Possessing the thirty-two marks, worshiped by gods and humans, Worshiped by the lord of the Asuras, I bow to the best of humans today. Possessing eyes like lotuses, a face like the moon, Surpassing through virtuous Dharma, giver of happiness, I bow today. Showing the supreme form, possessing the marks of a hundred merits, Surpassing in qualities and wisdom, guide, I bow today. Surpassing through generosity and taming, possessing excellent discipline, Surpassing through the power of patience, best of humans, I bow today. Born from the power of diligence, meditation and wisdom are cultivated, Wisdom like the sky, to you today I bow with my head. Possessing a heart of loving-kindness and equanimity, looking upon beings with compassion, Guide, with a joyful heart, always practicing abandonment, gone to the other shore.
