Second, the chapter of aspiration. Second, the chapter of aspiration. Second volume. Then, having heard this speech by the Dragon King Ocean, he was satisfied, pleased, and delighted, and generated great joy and happiness. Then, he offered to the Blessed One as a Dharma offering the jewel arrangement that completely purifies the ocean realm, and a great precious jewel called "Radiant Light," whose light illuminates the three-thousand great-thousand world system like a mountain king. The light of that precious jewel even dimmed the light of the sun and moon. All the retinue were amazed and prostrated to the Blessed One, saying, "Alala! The appearance of the Buddha is so wonderful! Because of his appearance, such amazing and wonderful Dharmas appear!" Then, the Dragon King Ocean made a supreme offering to the Blessed One and requested, "Blessed One, by this root of virtue, may I obtain the light of the Buddha's body, without any impurity! May that light illuminate all the Buddha-fields in the ten directions! May any sentient being touched by that light not be harmed by any afflictions! May I also obtain such a mark of the Tathagata's urna hair between the eyebrows! May I also obtain the knowledge of the path to enlightenment, without any obscuration! May that knowledge of the path lead sentient beings who have entered the wrong path to the right path! Blessed One, furthermore, how can a Bodhisattva be free from darkness and ignorance and obtain the knowledge of the path?" After making this request, the Blessed One said to the Dragon King Ocean, "Dragon King, in this case, a Bodhisattva who arises by the power of wisdom, who holds the lamp of wisdom in his hand, who possesses the knowledge of wisdom, who goes before with wisdom, who possesses the weapon of wisdom, who acts with wisdom, dwells in the realm of wisdom and gives charity, keeps the precepts, cultivates patience, exerts diligence, enters into meditative concentration, and sees all phenomena as they are."

causes beings to fully mature. Dragon Lord, how does a Bodhisattva, abiding in the place of wisdom, practice giving? Dragon Lord, in this, due to the equality of giving, there is equality of self. Due to the equality of self, there is equality of beings. Due to the equality of beings, there is equality of Dharma. Due to the equality of Dharma, there is equality of Bodhi. Without abandoning these equalities, giving is also practiced. However, giving is not done under the influence of afflictions. As it should be, just as it is measured, so too is one able to completely abandon all afflictions. What is it that completely abandons all afflictions, and all aspects of views are pacified, and all disputes are abandoned? This is the supreme abandonment. Dragon Lord, this is the giving of a Bodhisattva abiding in the place of wisdom. Furthermore, what is the discipline of a Bodhisattva abiding in the place of wisdom? Seeing body, speech, and mind as solitary is what well protects discipline. One does not rely on body, speech, and mind, nor does one rely on this world, nor does one rely on the other world, nor does one rely on the internal, nor does one rely on the external, nor does one rely on the aggregates, nor does one rely on the elements, nor does one rely on the sources, nor does one rely on Bodhi, nor does one rely on Nirvana, nor does one rely on all Dharmas, but one protects discipline. However, one does not become arrogant or extremely arrogant with that discipline. This is called the discipline of a Bodhisattva abiding in the place of wisdom. Furthermore, what is the patience of a Bodhisattva abiding in the place of wisdom? When practicing patience, one does not fixate on self, beings, and

I do not meditate. Because sentient beings are without self, and sentient beings are empty, one is neither afraid, nor alarmed, nor does one become anxious, and that patience is also not enduring with the body as the object, not with speech as the object, and not with the mind as the object, and when the body is destroyed, or limbs and minor limbs are cut off, one recognizes and endures each separately like grass, trees, and walls, and when one hears others speaking badly, one knows that it is meaningless speech, empty speech, accumulated speech, ungraspable speech, peaceful speech, and non-abiding speech and endures, when the mind is without defilement, is not a new mind, nor an old mind, one does not connect with another, and because it is destroyed in an instant, it becomes non-existent, one recognizes and endures each separately, and seeing that there is no connection, this is called the patience of a Bodhisattva abiding in the place of wisdom. So, what is the diligence of a Bodhisattva abiding in the place of wisdom? A Bodhisattva initiates diligence in order to fully increase all roots of virtue, and because diligence is fully increased, one does not truly see the realm of Dharma increasing and fully decreasing, and he knows that all dharmas truly gather in the realm of Dharma, therefore one does not truly see any dharma as truly established, and also sees that the world abides in unreal inversion, therefore when he observes all dharmas through such a pure gate of wisdom, he neither causes the dharmas to increase, nor does he cause them to decrease, and he deeply knows that all dharmas are not the nature of accumulation, do not abide in a place, do not abide in a direction, do not come from anywhere, and do not go anywhere, therefore, with such a dharma, in order to fully understand inversion and correctness as they are, he initiates the diligence of teaching the Dharma to sentient beings, and also does not truly cling to those sentient beings, not clinging to sentient beings, that is not clinging to all his dharmas. Why is that? Because there is no dharma that does not belong to sentient beings, but there are also no sentient beings that do not belong to dharma, however, what is the nature of dharma?
