When this teaching of the Garland of Examples was taught, twenty-four thousand beings generated the mind of unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan spoke these verses: Buddhahood is difficult to see; it is profound, subtle, immaculate, and without anything. Therefore, whoever desires to quickly attain complete enlightenment should not cling to any phenomena here. Wisdom is extremely pure and not artificial; it is universally apparent and luminous. By being well-established in the immaculate seal, one can touch this noble enlightenment. Whether it is the beginning or the end, the mind is pure and its nature is luminous. Whatever afflictions cause the mind to be afflicted, those should be completely abandoned in accordance with the Dharma. In this, there is no doer and no feeler. All phenomena are without trace and not deceptive. There is no person, and the selflessness of self is taught. The nature of dreams is like the sky. These are not divided by the actions of the body, nor are they analyzed by speech or mind. In reality, they are neither made nor other, and they cannot be compared. Like the sky, its nature is immaculate. It is not corporeal and cannot be pointed out. It is not knowable by the eye, nor by the ear or nose, nor by the tongue, body, or mind. It is not a characteristic, nor a transformation of characteristics. It is peaceful, without a place, like the reflection of the moon. In that, the mind does not move, nor is it the mind. It is not consciousness, nor is it perception or thought. Those deeds of wisdom, and likewise, cannot be known by the deeds of consciousness. Whatever Dharma is explained by letters, the compassion of the Buddha is unsurpassed. Whatever sentient beings have had deeds in the past, and have also been taken care of by virtuous friends, having heard this kind of Dharma, they obtain great, unadulterated joy. Saying, "What is this thought? What is this action?" demons do not find fault with them. If they do not know the mind and the realm of the mind, how can demons act in between? Having completely transcended these four demons, with reason, intelligence, merit, and virtue, they are well-established in the realm of the Buddha, practicing this noble practice of enlightenment. Whoever knows the conduct of all sentient beings, that is enlightenment.

When engaging in this supreme conduct, having heard of the many aspects of this conduct, also excellently reveal its nature and Dharma. The conduct of these sentient beings is diverse, mutually dependent and perfectly complete. Those great beings, having known the realm of conduct, also reveal the teachings that definitively show the victory. Here, sentient beings have much attachment and clinging, they have many tendencies of hatred, they appear to be tormented by hatred and afflictions, they are harmed by great ignorance. Thus, the conduct of sentient beings is diverse, having understood the aspects, causes, and objects of entering into them, below that, the nature of it is shown. Completely placed in a net of snares, the wise and clear individuals who hold knowledge. Having completely cut all those snares, they go without fault as they wish. Thus, the brave and wise Bodhisattva, enters into the minds of all beings with thoughts, completely cuts off all those afflictions, and acts upon all beings without obstruction. The light of the sun does not need a companion, nor does a venomous snake need a companion, the roar of a lion does not need a companion, nor does a Bodhisattva need a companion. Those without companions, alone, without duality, also truly accomplish many Buddha Dharmas. Endowed with diligence, ability, and strength, they completely destroy the afflictions of beings. Just as fire finds grass, so too does its strength increase in the field. Just as a Bodhisattva arises with afflictions, so too does the fire of wisdom increase greatly. The chapter on showing examples, the fourth.
