Second, the chapter called "Enduring Harm and Decisive Penetration". Second, the chapter called "Enduring Harm and Decisive Penetration". Asked by Arya Mati Sagara. Second fascicle. Mati Sagara, what is the endurance of harm of the precious mind of enlightenment that generates omniscience? What is the harm of the precious mind of enlightenment that generates omniscience? Mati Sagara, here, after a Bodhisattva Mahasattva has generated such a precious mind of enlightenment for omniscience, non-Aryas, beings with immoral conduct, or demons, or gods of the demon horde, or those blessed by demons, or messengers of demons, may torment, or variously torment, or agitate, or completely agitate, or disturb, or completely disturb, or threaten, or even strike, but the mind of thinking of enlightenment will not turn back from that generation, and will not turn back from the great compassion that strives to liberate all sentient beings, and will not turn back from striving to prevent the lineage of the Three Jewels from being cut off, and will not turn back from applying to the root of virtue that perfectly accomplishes all the Buddha's teachings, and will not turn back from accumulating the collection of merits that will perfect the marks and signs, and will not turn back from striving to manifestly accomplish the purification of the Buddha's field, and will not turn back from manifestly striving to abandon body and life and completely uphold the sacred Dharma, and will not turn back from manifestly striving to ripen all sentient beings and not being attached to one's own happiness. Thus, with such superior intention being perfectly complete, even if all sentient beings inflict harm, it can be endured. Even if they despise, slander, and belittle, it can be endured. The path of words of abuse from all sentient beings, whether cursing, threatening, or speaking evil, can also be endured. The harm of all sentient beings can also be endured. The burden of all sentient beings can also be endured. There is no weariness in saving, no discouragement, no complete discouragement, no laziness, no despair, but the power is shown near. Power is increased, and diligence is started, and it is made dull by dullness, with joy.

One should not hold onto the mind of arising and ignorance! Even if they scold, one should not scold back. Even if they strike, one should not strike back. Even if they are angry, one should not be angry back. Even if they fight, one should not fight back. In this way, one puts on the armor of counting sentient beings. For example, this Mahayana is a vehicle that does not accord with all the worlds. Why is that? Those sentient beings follow the ordinary course. I want to strive to turn away from the ordinary course. Those sentient beings are mutually discordant. I have donned armor to abandon the discord of all sentient beings. Those sentient beings are brave in harmful thoughts. I am completely seeking patience and certainty. Those sentient beings dwell in completely deceiving one another. I am completely seeking to be satisfied with wisdom. If those sentient beings, as many as are completely divided by the divisions of the ten directions, all holding swords, short spears, and large arrows in their hands, follow after me, wherever they stand, sit, walk, or lie down, if in that place the mind of enlightenment arises, or the mind of generosity, or the mind of discipline, or the mind of patience, or the mind of diligence, or the mind of meditation, or the mind of wisdom, or the mind of the root of virtue of hearing arises, then may I cut my body into a hundredth of an elm leaf, or completely destroy it, or completely shatter it. Apart from all those sentient beings, I will do nothing else, but constantly scold, or threaten, or curse, or belittle, or speak evil words and harsh speech, even so, I will not generate a mind of contention towards any sentient being. Why is that? From the beginning of the past, countless cycles have been made, wherever this body of mine has gone to the realm of hell beings, or to the place of birth of animals, or to the world of Yama, or even if it has become a human, it has become defiled by the impurity of food of desire, not possessing the conditions to hear the Dharma, and living a meaningless life with a light way of living, being divided into limbs and branches, being cut, split, and separated, doing various kinds of deeds, but I have not done my own benefit from that basis, but for the benefit of others.
