A man in a single rock, hard and firm, beneath it lies a great treasure of jewels filled with bright light. Beneath that lies a treasure of wish-fulfilling jewels. You must first carve away all the inherent nature of the stone. Once carved, a stone that appears as silver will appear to you. Do not regard this as a great treasure, but understand it completely and carve it away. Once carved, a stone that appears as gold will appear, but do not regard this as a great treasure either, understand it completely and carve it away. Once carved, a stone that appears as various jewels will appear, but do not regard this as a great treasure either, understand it completely and carve it away. O man, if you strive in this way, without the need for manifest effort in carving, and without needing to exert yourself, you will see the great treasure of wish-fulfilling jewels. If you find that great treasure of wish-fulfilling jewels, you will become rich, possess great wealth and enjoyment, and have the power to benefit yourself and others. As it is said, this is given as an example so that sons of good family may understand this meaning as much as possible. The phrase "hard and firm in a single rock" is a synonym for the afflictions that pervade all actions and the dualistic clinging that abides separately. The phrase "beneath it lies a great treasure of wish-fulfilling jewels" is a synonym for the non-conceptual realm. The phrase "a person who desires the great treasure of wish-fulfilling jewels" is a synonym for a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. The phrase "a person who manifests the great treasure" is a synonym for a Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha. The word "rock" is a synonym for the characteristics of conceptualization of inherent nature. The word "carve" is a synonym for non-attention. The phrase "stone that appears as silver" is a synonym for the characteristics of conceptualization of antidotes. The phrase "stone that appears as gold" is a synonym for emptiness.

Regarding "suchness" and so on, these are technical terms for the characteristics of conceptualization. The so-called "stone that appears as various jewels" is a technical term for the characteristics of conceptualization regarding attainment. The so-called "finding a great treasure of wish-fulfilling jewel" is a technical term for touching the realm of non-conceptualization (dharmadhatu). Sons of good family, in this way, through the use of examples, one should comprehend entering the realm of non-conceptualization (dharmadhatu). Sons of good family, how should this be understood? How does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva observe the characteristics of conceptualization as previously shown, and enter the realm of non-conceptualization (dharmadhatu)? Sons of good family, here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, thus abiding in the realm of non-conceptualization (dharmadhatu), if the nature of dharani manifests the characteristics of conceptualization, then one should observe thus: If one says "my form," this is acting in conceptualization. If one says "the form of others," this is acting in conceptualization. If one says "this form exists," this is acting in conceptualization. If one says "form arises," "ceases," "is completely defiled," "is completely purified," this is acting in conceptualization. If one says "form does not exist," this is acting in conceptualization. If one says "form is empty in its essence," "without cause," "without result," "without action," "without association," "without involvement," this is acting in conceptualization. If one says "form is merely consciousness," this is acting in conceptualization. If one says "just as form does not exist, so too the consciousness that appears as form does not exist," this is acting in conceptualization. Sons of good family, in this way, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not fixate on form, nor does he fixate on the consciousness that appears as form, however, he does not completely denigrate all consciousness. Apart from consciousness, he does not fixate on any dharma, and he does not truly see consciousness as being without substance. Apart from consciousness, he does not truly see without substance. The consciousness that does not appear as form, and that consciousness

One is not truly seen as it is. Different is not truly seen as it is. For consciousness, that which is without substance, it is not truly seen as a substance. It is also not truly seen as without substance. Sons of good family, whatever is not conceptualized by all conceptualizations of all kinds, that is also not truly seen as the realm of non-conceptualization. Sons of good family, this is the way to enter the realm of non-conceptualization. Thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva dwells well in the realm of non-conceptualization. Likewise, with feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. Likewise, with the perfection of generosity, the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom. Likewise, from emptiness and so forth up to omniscience, apply accordingly. Sons of good family, here, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva manifests a conceptualization that engages with omniscience, then he should contemplate thus: If he engages with "my omniscience," then he is engaging with conceptualization. If he engages with "another's omniscience," then he is engaging with conceptualization. If he engages with "omniscience is this," then he is engaging with conceptualization. If he engages with "attaining omniscience," then he is engaging with conceptualization. If he engages with "omniscience is the purification of all afflictions and obscurations of knowledge," then he is engaging with conceptualization. If he engages with "omniscience is utterly pure," then he is engaging with conceptualization. If he engages with "omniscience does not exist," then he is engaging with conceptualization. If he engages with "omniscience has no essence, no cause, no result, no action, no association, no entry," then he is engaging with conceptualization. Omniscience is merely consciousness.
