Then, when this speech was completed, at that time, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya, while dwelling in that manner, requested the Blessed One with verses in mind: "At the King of Mountains, Vulture Peak, the Sugatas always reside where the Buddhas dwell. The Lamp of the World also goes there, and I will make immeasurable offerings to you." Then, the Blessed One, knowing the thoughts in the mind of Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya, addressed Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya with verses in mind: "At the King of Mountains, the Victorious One manifestly dwells. Go forth, having defeated the invincible demons. There, the great benefit of all beings will be swiftly accomplished without compare." Then, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya, having been sent by the Blessed One with verses in mind, bowed to the Blessed One in mind, circumambulated the Blessed One three times in mind, and departed from that assembly, going to the place of countless Buddhas, as numerous as the sands of the ocean, to the great stupa of the King of Mountains, Vulture Peak, and after going there, it was like this: For the sake of the Blessed One's enjoyment, in that instant, the King of Mountains, Vulture Peak, became level, wide, and vast, without stumps, thorns, stones, rubble, or pebbles, and its entire surroundings were blessed into seven precious jewels. The ground was made of precious, blazing sapphire, adorned with all inconceivable and unparalleled divine ornaments and precious jewels. It was exceedingly adorned with arrangements of countless varieties of precious jewels. The garments of the gods of the Tushita heaven adorned and embellished the vicinity of the houses. Incense wafted from various incense vessels. It was adorned with garlands and half-garlands. Various flowers were scattered. The sounds of divine music were played. It was filled with raised victory banners, flags, and streamers. Curtains were hung in the mandala of the courtyard. In the center of the surrounding courtyard, there were things made of seven precious jewels.

The lion throne of the earth deity was manifested, and clothes not made of silk threads were laid down. As soft as Kalandika, comfortable to the touch, covered with the garments of the gods of Tushita. A core felt was laid on top. Two red cushions were arranged at the ends. Pillars about one yojana in width and height were erected. The base was beyond the works of gods and humans, made of gold from the Jambudvipa river, covered with a pearl net, and adorned with precious cloth ornaments. From the divine precious bells attached to the lion throne, a soft and pleasing sound clearly arose. All directions were illuminated by great precious jewels. The great precious umbrella, whose base manifested as being made of a great, immaculate beryl jewel. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya manifested the entirety of Mount Rajagriha (Vulture Peak Mountain) and its surroundings as being adorned with countless various precious jewels in an inconceivable array, and in that instant, entered the abode of Chandraprabha (Moonlight Youth). Having entered, he mentally prostrated to the Bhagavan, mentally circumambulated the Bhagavan three times, and then sat on the seat. To this, it is said: The mountain, too, is a divine object, vast and wide. The precious stone platform is good and delightful, An inconceivable divine object, a palace of the mind. In the center, a precious lion throne is also erected. From the divine object umbrella, a pleasing sound arises, In all directions, precious jewels emit great light. The root is a pleasing beryl. The son of the Unconquered Victor manifested it thus. The mountain, too, is adorned with various precious jewels. The supreme precious seat extends for a yojana. Maitreya the hero, having well manifested these, In that instant, entered the abode. Then, the Bhagavan truly taught the Dharma to the great assembly, like an ocean, truly praised, truly rejoiced, truly exhorted, and then arose from the seat and departed. Thus, by the miraculous power of the Buddha, having emerged from the hot spring gate of the great city of Rajagriha, he went to where Mount Rajagriha (Vulture Peak Mountain) was located.

I went to the palace manifested by Maitreya, and upon arriving, sat on the great lion throne manifested by Maitreya. The assembly of monks surrounded him, and the assembly of Bodhisattvas gazed upon him from the front. Gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, sages, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, and non-humans prostrated and paid homage, and he taught the Dharma within a sea-like assembly. Then, all the hundreds of thousands of kotis of nayutas of beings, including the transformed Moonbeam Youth, and many Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who had come from other world realms, holding flowers, incense, garlands, and unguents, made music, beat drums, raised umbrellas, victory banners, and divine banners, and holding great garlands, came from the great city of Rajagriha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar) through the gate of peace in order to make offerings to the Bhagavan. They went to where Vulture Peak Mountain (present-day Vulture Peak Mountain, Rajgir, Bihar) was located and where the Bhagavan was, and bowed their heads at the feet of the Bhagavan. After circumambulating the Bhagavan three times, they made great offerings with flowers, incense, fragrances, garlands, unguents, powders, robes, umbrellas, victory banners, banners, cymbals, and drums, and then sat down on one side. In order to ask about the Dharma with reverence and devotion, the transformed Moonbeam Youth knelt on his right knee, pressed to the ground, and with palms joined towards where the Bhagavan was, said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, if the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyaksambuddha, would grant me the opportunity to ask and then prophesy an answer, I would like to ask some questions." After he said this, the Bhagavan said to the transformed Moonbeam Youth: "Young one, the Tathagata always grants you the opportunity. Ask the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyaksambuddha, whatever you wish to ask." After the Bhagavan spoke thus, granting the opportunity, to the Bhagavan
