Because of trust and use by the Sangha. The second Dharma garment is for going to the king's palace. The third Dharma garment is for villages, cities, suburban towns, Yewu settlements, and markets, and monks should hold these three Dharma garments. Those monks who possess discipline and merit should uphold these precepts that I have established. Monks, those who are not suitable to use the property of the Sangha should not use it at all. The property of the Sangha is like a pit of fire. The property of the Sangha is like poison. The property of the Sangha is like a vajra. The property of the Sangha is like a burden. Antidotes can be applied to poison, but no antidote can be applied to the property of the Sangha. Then, the Venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: The precepts spoken by the Blessed One, which the monks uphold, are restrained by the vows of individual liberation, are manifest in discipline, and are guarded according to the precepts of the Blessed One. Then, the Venerable Ananda bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and departed. Then, those great Shravakas went to their respective Buddha-fields. Gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans and non-humans also went. The Blessed One rejoiced and spoke thus, and all the complete retinue, along with gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas, rejoiced in what the Blessed One had spoken. The Sutra of the Great Vehicle called "The Noble Array of Zamatog" is complete. Translated, reviewed, and finalized by the Indian Abbot Jinamitra, Danashila, and the revising translator, the monk Yeshede.
